Even if you have never heard the name of this peninsula, there is a good chance that you are familiar with gorgeous Dingle, nevertheless. Hollywood found out about its spectacular sceneries a long time ago, and now there are dozens of movies that used the wild Dingle Peninsula as the filming location. The most famous on this list are the Oscar-winning classic "Rayan's daughter" and everyone's favorite franchise "The Star Wars".

If you decided to get acquainted with the area, there are plenty of things to do. It's full of old Christian chapels, ancient crosses and wells, prehistoric ring forts, abandoned huts, and villages that were forgotten a long time ago. Once on the peninsula, you won't be able to stay in one place for long as there are so many things to explore.

One of the most popular ways of doing that is hiking to Anascal. This route takes you across the center of the fairytale area.

On your way, you'll be able to take in the scenic views over the Slieve Mish mountains and visit the Inch Beach, an amazing wildlife sanctuary. Despite its name, it's one of the longest beaches in the country. Almost 5 km (3 mi) of soft golden sand, wild dunes, and the endless sea. Brave souls can even make time for a quick swim or, even better, go surfing.

After you have some rest, you can continue to the charming city of Dingle. If you get tired of hiking, you can take a look at the 16th-century Minard Castle, stop for lunch in the picturesque Lispole Village or just pause for a couple of minutes to admire that jaw-dropping views over the Dingle Bay.
