Visit the Ancient Valley of the Temples

Temple of Concordia

Consisting of eight temples and ruins of other constructions, the Valley of Temples is beautifully decorated with almond trees and other forms of local flora, creating one undoubtedly scenic landscape. Among the most imposing sights in the valley is the magnificent Temple of Concordia. The well-maintained monument was built back in 430 BC, however, stands pretty much undamaged to this day and is considered to be among the best-preserved Greek temples in the world.

Temple of Hera Lacinia

Another postcard-like image on the site is the Temple of Hera Lacinia, also known as the Temple of Juno. Situated on the highest and easternmost point of the valley, it provides a truly picturesque backdrop of the surroundings, making it even more spectacular.

Other points of interest include the Temple of Castor and Pollux, the Temple of Aesculapius, the Temple of Vulcano, the Tomb of Theron, the Paleo-Christian Necropolis, among others.
