The Ring of Kerry

If you are looking for paradise on Earth, then The Ring of Kerry is your next stop on your Irish adventure itinerary. Proclaimed to be one of the best hiking spots in Ireland, the Ring of Kerry is a 111-mile long oval-shaped route that takes in rugged and verdant coastal landscapes and rural seaside villages.

The route originated in 1300 when Christian monks built a hermitage site on top of the Skellig Michael, which was also used as a filming location for two of the Star Wars movie. At the time of construction of the hermitage, the Skellig Michael was the furthest point in the world known to man, and today can be admired by going on a tour around the famous Ring of Kerry.

The biggest attractive factor to going on a three-and-a-half-hour hike is the astonishing assortment of stops you'll make to intake all the natural beauty of the route. Incredible scenery surrounding you along the walk, stone bridges that take you across small rivers, and a variety of famous landmarks such as The Gap of Dunloe, Derrynane House & Park, Cahersiveen, and others.
