Marvel at the Chateau de Chenonceau

While in France, don't miss the chance to visit one of the most spectacular sites of the Loire Valley, the picture-perfect Chateau de Chenonceau. Featuring several splendid gardens and lavish decor, the castle is often called "The Ladies Castle" because of the huge impact several women had on it throughout history.

The 16th-century Chateau de Chenonceau was renovated and redecorated a number of times over the years and it was usually women who were in charge of such happenings. Katherine Briconnet was the first one to start the transformation of what later came to be one of the most magnificent examples of Renaissance architecture in the area. In the upcoming years, the castle was retouched by Queen Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers, adding the beautiful gardens and several lavish rooms to the ensemble.

Enjoy the skip-the-line tickets during your guided tour of this gorgeous French chateau and make sure to have your camera ready for one of the most picturesque sights of your France tour.
