Cross the Ponte Vecchio

Remarkably, this stunning structure was the only bridge in Florence to survive the demolitions of WWII. While retreating from Italy, the Germans bombed all the bridges in Florence except for this one, destroying several buildings on both sides instead, leaving Ponte Vecchio intact.
