Marvel at the St. Mark's Basilica

One of the symbols of Venice, the imposing St. Mark's Basilica, leaves every visitor in awe with its imposing elegance. Seeing it with your own eyes is a "must" while touring Venice, Italy, as it is certainly a one-of-a-kind landmark. During the tour, you have the chance to marvel at its unique patterns and intricate decor of the exterior, as well as to explore the numerous artifacts inside.

Did you know that the splendid basilica, boasting five huge domes and over 500 columns, features enough mosaic to cover 1.5 American football fields? It also houses the renowned Pala d'Oro and the statue of the Horses of St. Mark. The latter was shipped to Venice after a crusade in 1204 along with numerous other treasures.

Before stepping into the basilica, make sure you are dressed appropriately. Beachwear is not allowed, as you should wear clothing to the knee and the shoulders should be fully covered. Also, if carrying a large bag, you might be asked to leave it at the cloakroom for security reasons.
