Our unforgettable Northern European Journey (summer 2015)

The trip was absolutely fabulous. Had a great time. Firebird tours did a great job with recommendations, city tour guides and drivers. In Copenhagen our driver didn't show but I called and they had a sub there in an hour. We believe they also asked our hotel to upgrade our room and left us a snack tray so all was good. I think we ended up walking around 125 miles in the three weeks. I would do it again and recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind walking and living out of a suitcase. The hotels were as advertised, 3 & 4 star, in mostly central locations. Asking to upgrade at check-in worked to get us bigger rooms most of the time. We would recommend that the drivers and tour guides have our cell numbers and make themselves more visible as drivers and guides. Most of the guides were easily spotted but the drivers could be hard to locate. The city tour guide in Amsterdam purchased tickets to the Anne Franke house without checking with us first and expected to be reimbursed. She also scheduled the house tour during our 3 hour city tour time which I thought was inappropriate. However, we were glad she purchased the tickets as the line was incredibly long. If she had been able to reach us prior to the tour we could have agreed to purchase the tickets and picked a different time.
