Real experiences, real memories — discover Norway through the eyes of travelers who’ve been there.
Myself plus 3 other friends took a trip which was organized by firebird to chase the Northern Lights in Norway. Polina created a superb itinerary which met and exceeded our requests and expectations. Abyy and Alexandra from firebird made sure that the logistics of the program were carried out according to the plan. All 3 ladies were attentive to our needs and promptly responded to our requests. This is my 89 trip overseas, but my first trip with firebird. From now on they will be the company that I will work with for future trips. They are the best!! Dr. E. Boker + 3.Eldad B — 2026-06-18
We highly recommend Firebird Travel. They organised a fantastic, personalised trip. Everything was perfectly organised and went smoothly from start to finish. The trip was for 3.5 weeks. The communication was second to none!! Easy to communicate during the trip. Do not hesitate to use and trust this organisation. Fantastic & thank you very much. Will recommend to everyone. We had a fabulous time. The two guides we had were amazing and knowledgeable. They taught us a lot. All the sites were beautiful. The rain put a damper on the trip tho. The lady in red at the Flam stop was incredible.Marilyn Weinberg Rose — 2026-06-07
This was a fantastic trip! All of the locations that we visited were interesting, unique and wonderful to explore. Visiting Scandinavia in the winter is definitely cold, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Seeing the Northern Lights was amazing, as were so many of the other sights in Norway and Finland!pebeare — 2026-03-25

The trip was wonderful and I appreciated such a diverse itinerary. Although it was a short trip, we got a good look at Norway.Gwen Hatchette — 2025-08-26
I usually travel doing a DIY (Do It Yourself) itinerary. This trip through Norway overseen by Firebird was a wonderful experience and really the only way 11 of of us could have experienced the great trip we had.Ross Field — 2024-08-02
Customers consistently praise the excellent service, highlighting how the company removes stress from international travel by handling all arrangements, from hotels to transfers and tours. People frequently commend the knowledgeable and personable local guides who enhance their holidays with insightful information and a perfect balance of scheduled activities and free time. Reviewers also appreciate the well-chosen hotels, often in ideal locations, and the smooth planning process that allows for customization and flexibility.
The trip was exciting and interesting with interesting activities as well as free time for our own exploring. We were part of a small group (so nice!) and we made friends with the Canadian couple in our group. Special shout out to our guides: Thomas in Copenhagen, Lisa in Bergen, Anna in Helsinki. I am a bit jet lagged so can’t recall the names of the guides in Oslo and Stockholm, but they were excellent too! It was very easy to book the trip, to use the app to track activities, and to work with the staff team. Outstanding company & service!
Our tour support made great choices for our experience. We loved the hotels in Stockholm and Bergen the most. Copenhagen was fine but a very big hotel.

We traveled to Norway and Finland in 2019 (even though it states 2020 below) with Firebird tours. It was a small group tour but it was ultimately a 2 person tour! The service from each and every guide was fantastic. They were always on time to meet us either at the airport or hotel for a tour. The lodgings were unique, clean and we never had a complaint. Each local guide was unique, informative and friendly. Don't hesitate.. Firebird customer service was great from payments to questions and assistance in any way. We'd definitely travel with them again and are looking forward to Switzerland and Northern Italy when travel is open again.
My wife and I decided to see Denmark, Sweden and Finland after she gave a talk at the EURO Conference on Operations Research in Copenhagen in early July. We only saw their capitals, back in 2006, and we felt it was time see more of the three countries' cities and villages. Without hesitating, we decided to contact Firebird to arrange our private tour - this was going to be our third outing with Firebird in as many years - in 2002, we used them for our Norway, Netherlands and Belgium private tour and in 2023, they organized our Switzerland private tour. We never regretted the decision. We again looked for Natalie Ray, the same sales person who handled our itinerary in the first two outings. Whenever I have a specific itinerary in mind which is not similar to any of the published tours, it will take time to craft all the details. Natalie had been used to our style and patiently worked with us to craft an itinerary that we would be completely happy with. Although I specified the cities and villages that I wanted to visit with my wife, I vetted the hotel choices that Natalie would line up for me, and I reviewed the timings for the guided tours, the drives, and the departure times, I left it to Natalie and her team to design the sequence of visits and which cities would be the home bases and which nearby locations would be the day trips from the home bases. As the tour drew nearer, they provided more details, like exact timing of pick-ups, departures, arrivals, etc. A couple of weeks prior to leaving, I noted With about two weeks prior to departure, I noted that the Kalmar tour was to the famed glass factories so I requested for a change to a regular city tour, with castle and cathedral. After a week, Firebird had arranged it with their local agent. We enjoyed nearly all the hotels that we had jointly agreed upon, especially the Royal Hotel in Aarhus, Britannia in Esbjerg, Best Western Kalmarsund, Avalon in Gothenburg, Radisson Blu in Uppsala, Lydmar Hotel in Stockholm, Hotel Maria in Helsinki, Radisson Blu Marina Palace in Turku, and Sokos solo Torni in Tampere. There was a fumble by Radisson Blu Uppsala which gave us the wrong room but a quick consult with Firebird Support and we were transferred the next night to a much larger room. The itinerary included the overnight ferry ride on Silja Lines, from Stockholm to Helsinki, which we had done before in 2006. That is always a nice ship ride and Firebird made sure we had a sea view room. Nearly all the local tour guides engaged by Firebird were very good or outstanding - there were 15 guides and only three didn't rate 'exceptional'. All the tour guides showed up on time, without exception. For most of the days, there were intermittent showers or downright rain. This naturally put a damper on our enjoyment but the guides were savvy enough to jiggle the schedules so that we stayed mostly indoors when it rained and outdoors when rained stopped. We were assigned three main drivers, one main driver for each country, and they were all very good. The tour vehicle for Sweden was a bit small (an MB A model) but the two others were large enough (an MB van and an MB S class). All the drivers were friendly and professional, and drove safely. There was a slight fumble when our guide in Malmo and Ystad wasn't informed that she was supposed to pay for the Viking living museum in Foteviken, so we had to shell out the entrance fees. That got settled after the fact but I thought I could just get the refund money from the local tour agent (the same person driving us around in Sweden) but Firebird rules dictated that it be a two step transaction - I get a check from them, and then they bill the local agent, which I thought was a bit more clumsy. There was almost another incident in Aarhus when our guide didn't have tickets to the open air museum and he had to call Firebird Support (I had to give him the number) to confirm that indeed that ticket was part of the arrangement. All in all, our 'Scandinavian Adventure' was great, exciting, and very memorable, with great thanks to Firebird Tours. We are beyond pleased - they may be expensive, but with Firebird, you always get what you pay for.

Good trip! Thanks! Hotels were great, transfers were all smooth and on time. Nice to have a small group of 12. Tours were good except for the walking tour in Bergen. Planning overall excellent by Firebird. Suggestions: first ferry from Denmark to Norway should have upgrade room to begin with, the included cabin was too bare bones for everyone. Raise the price and include the upgrade as a starting point. Bergen should not have walking tours, as it rains over 200 days a year. Our tour was in torrential rain, we couldn't hear the guide, our umbrellas all turned inside out and we were soaked through in 3 minutes time. It was miserable. The tour only went within a mile or less of hotel and we could have done that on our own. We all agreed that the bus ride to the airport was much more scenic and helpful. It felt that we got cheated out of Bergen, which is probably a lovely city.
The trip to Norway was awesome!
