Oslo City Hall is one the most popular places in the capital. It houses the city council, city administration, art studios with galleries, and is located in the center of town at a short walk’s distance both to the waterfront and the Opera House. It might not look very appealing from the outside, but the building is definitely really worth seeing from inside.
The interior artwork is a marvel! It captures some of the cultural aspects of Norway and the local area. The interiors are very grand and beautiful with marble staircases and paintings and murals. Both the big central hall as well as the surrounding rooms are nicely decorated with modernist paintings. Moreover, this is the place where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held annually, what makes the Oslo City Hall even more famous.
