Myrdal Train Station in Norway
Myrdal, Norway is better known as the mountain railway station and the upper point of the Flam railway. The station also serves as an important junction on the Bergen line in Aurland municipality.
A tricky thing about Myrdal is that the road connection to this tiny village is impossible and the only way to get there is by train.
The Myrdal station is situated 13 km south of the famous village of Flam, between two tunnels on the Bergen Railway.
As Myrdal is a part of the Flamsbana Railway, it's not hard to imagine that the train journey in such surrounding scenery is just extraterrestrial.
The railroad is only 20 km long and runs along some truly photogenic locations with rugged rocks, roaring waterfalls, beautiful rivers and snow-capped mountains.
Generally, Myrdal is used as a station for changing trains. However, the place even has a hotel in the area for travelers' convenience.
