The Old Stock Exchange is situated on Slotsholmen island and is one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen dating back to 1625. It is situated very close to the city center and is easily recognized by its most unique spire in the Copenhagen skyline. The spire with four entwined dragons has three crowns at the top representing the close relationship between Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
This magnificent building housed the Danish stock-market until 1974 until it moved to more modern and suitable facilities. At that time the Old Stock Exchange was surrounded by water from three sides, so ships could unload their cargo directly at the front wharf. Don't miss out on this unique architectural masterpiece!
