Why Travel to Cai Be, Vietnam

Cai Be is a district in the west of the Tien Giang province, covering a total of 41 hectares with a population of around 280,000 people. This bustling district used to be the administrative, economic and political center of South Vietnam and was then referred to as "Cai Be Dinh" (1732 -1757).

Today Cai Be is one of the vital centers that distributes agricultural products, especially tropical fruit both to the region and the country on the whole.

The bustling floating market is a symbolic Cai Be landmark. Wholesalers on big boats moor here, displaying samples of their goods on tall wooden poles. You can also stop to visit the picturesque riverside Catholic cathedral or local orchards.

The traditional rice and rice paper factory is another Cai Be must-see. Rice is considered the biggest treasure of Vietnam's nature and plays an important role in Vietnamese life. At the factory, you can learn how rice is processed into rice paper and discover how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are made.

Cai Be offers great opportunities of all types: from beautiful sceneries for photographic stops, to boat rides along the purling rivers.

Cruise through the town's mysterious canals, meet opened-hearted and hospitable merchants and sample delicious fresh locally grown fruits during your Vietnam trip.
