The Giant's Causeway

The Giant's Causeway, or the Clochán an Aifir, is one of the most remarkable landmarks on Earth and has been considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. As the old Irish folklore goes, the geometrical rock formation was built by Finn MacCool, the Irish Giant, to get to Scotland and battle a rivaling Benandonner giant.

Located in Northern Ireland on the sea coast of the Antrim plateau, the hexagonal rock formation was created naturally 50 to 60 million years ago as a result of continuous and repetitive flows of lava towards the coast which cooled as they came in contact with the sea. Today, the Giant's Causeway is the most famous landmark in Northern Ireland that attracts thousands of travelers to the stunning location

Over 40'000 overlocking basalt rock formations make up the Giant's Causeway alongside the scenic coastal location which adds to the magical surreality of the place. The Giant's Causeway voted as the 4th greatest natural wonder of the United Kingdom, is an excellent location for photography enthusiasts and an amazing starting point for anyone beginning to learn photography principles.
