Why Visit the City Hall in Stockholm
The Stockholm City Hall is one of Sweden's most famous buildings, and one of Stockholm's most visited tourist attractions. It stands on the eastern tip of Kungshomen island and performs the function of the Municipal Council for the City of Stockholm.
The City Hall is one of the country’s leading examples of national romanticism in architecture. It is also a place where Nobel Prizes are given and received. All Nobel Prizes except the Nobel Peace Prize are presented in Stockholm.
The landmark is definitely worth a visit for its gorgeous architecture, great location, and fascinating history. The red-brick monument features an inner courtyard and there is a nice garden with a beautiful waterfront view as well.
City Hall tour
If you wish to go inside, you'll have to take a guided tour that is available all year round. You can also climb up the tower, which is currently a museum, and enjoy a fantastic view of the city. On the outside, the top of the tower is decorated with three crowns, as it is the national emblem of Sweden.
If you love architecture, art, and history, this is a place you don't want to miss while you are touring Stockholm.
