Arrival in Seville

Welcome to the fiery Spanish city - Seville! Upon arrival, your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your downtown hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent city on your own, dine in one of the authentic local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Seville City Tour & Archive of the Indies

After breakfast, you meet with your guide in the hotel lobby and have a panoramic city tour of Seville.

Experience authentic Andalusian spirit and Seville's treasures from the age of discoveries. Your sightseeing program features top sights including the General Archive of the Indies in Seville, housing all the documents referring to the colonies in the Indies in one place.

You then enter the Seville Cathedral (tickets included) and see the Golden Tower, a historic watchtower that was built in the early 13th century. Continue to Columbus Avenue and see the harbor.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day Trip to Huelva & Transfer to Algarve

In the morning following breakfast, you check out and prepare for an exciting day trip to Huelva, located along the Gulf of Cadiz coast. During your guided tour, you visit the 15th-century Franciscan La Rabida Monastery, which has witnessed the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. Here Columbus stayed between 1491-92 waiting for financial backing from the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand, and Isabella.

You then continue to the Monastery Santa Clara where the explorer and his crew took the “Columbus Vow” in 1493. The final place you tour today is the Wharf of the Caravels museum called Muelle de las Carabelas, home to the 3 replica caravels of Christopher Columbus: Santa Maria, La Niña, and La Pinta.

After the tour, you have a transfer to the Southern province of Portugal, Algarve. You are transferred to your hotel in Vilamoura, check in and have evening at leisure to explore the surrounding area.

Discovering Algarve's Western Coast

After breakfast, you meet your guide and driver who take you on a day trip to the breathtaking western coast of Algarve.

Today's touring program takes us to coastal towns of Lagos and Sagres, which remain one of the most authentic parts of the Algarve region and are the starting point from which the discovering of the sea route to India began. It is your perfect chance to wander back in time to the era of the Portuguese Discoveries!

In Lagos you see the old streets, the first slave market in Europe, visit the golden church of Saint Anthony, as well as marvel at the spectacular rock formations of Ponta da Piedade.

Then continue to Sagres where you stop at Cape St. Vincent - the most southwestern point of Europe. This place was known as the End of the World and today apart from stunning natural panoramas it boasts the most powerful lighthouse in Europe. Then you visit the 15th-century Sagres Fortress, which was the site of the Naval School of Prince Henry the Navigator, and a meeting place for astronomers, cartographers, and sailors of the time.

After the tour, you are transferred to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Arrival to Lisbon & Fado Show

Following breakfast, you check out from the hotel. Your driver transfers you to the train station in Faro for your train to Lisbon (2nd class tickets included).

Upon arrival to Portugal's glorious capital Lisbon, you are transferred to your downtown hotel for check-in.

As a highlight of the day, in the evening you enjoy dinner in a city restaurant accompanied by a magnificent Fado show.

Lisbon Old Town Tour & Jeronimos Monastery

In the morning after breakfast, you meet your guide and go on a sightseeing tour of Lisbon.

During the tour you visit both the old and new towns with its most famous attractions, including Rossio Square, Restauradores Square with the Obelisk commemorating the Restoration of Portugal’s independence from Spain in 1640, the charming neighborhood of Chiado abundant in old cafés, shops and theaters, and the Lisbon’s Sé Cathedral - the city’s oldest church.

Then you proceed to Commerce Square where you learn how the city was destroyed in 1755 by a massive earthquake, and then totally rebuilt to become the city of today. You then walk at the Belem Quarter, where you see the Monument to the Discoveries and the ancient Belem Tower.

You then continue to the Jeronimos Monastery - a highly ornate monastery that is situated in the Belem district of western Lisbon. Founded in 1501, it is one of the most cherished historical buildings of Portugal. This grand religious building was historically associated with the early sailors as explorers, as it was from here that Vasco da Gama spent his last night before his voyage to the Far East.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Flight to Madeira

Exploring Madeira

Following breakfast meet your guide for an 8-hour tour of Madeira's main sights and places related with the discoverer Christopher Columbus on this island.

During the tour, you visit Funchal's Columbus Square and the Joao Esmeraldo House municipal sugar museum, which Columbus visited several times. Then go to Porto da Cruz located in the northeast of Madeira to explore the Northern Milling Company where you learn about the island’s sugar production. Your tour then continues to Pico do Facho Viewpoint that offers great views of Madeira. Afterwards, you go to the city of Machico, which was the landing point of discoverers of Madeira.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Santa Maria de Colombo Boat Tour

After breakfast, prepare for an exciting day as you today you go on an unforgettable boat tour on a magnificent replica of Christopher Columbus’s flagship "Santa Maria".

You walk to the pier (easily reached by foot) to board the ship. During your 3-hour boat ride, you can enjoy the unique natural surroundings and feel exactly how Christopher Columbus felt on his trip heading to the unknown.
