Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Barcelona

Welcome to the proud capital of Catalonia and one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Barcelona! Upon arrival your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your downtown hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent old town on your own, dine in one of the authentic local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Day 2: Visiting Barcelona Old Town & La Rambla

Following breakfast in your hotel you meet your guide and go on a wonderful panoramic half-day tour around the most outstanding attractions of Barcelona.

Barcelona obtains one of the biggest and architecturally diverse Medieval districts in Europe. During the tour you get to see Barcelona's Old Town called "Casc Antic" and its medieval landmarks.

Your tour begins with a walk through the maze of old narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter that was formed around the Roman forum. You get to see the Barcelona Cathedral both from the outside and the inside, pass the former Jewish District "Call", the Sant Jaume Square, see the Generalitat Palace and City Hall from the outside, pass the Square of the King and the former Royal Palace.

You then proceed to the Ribera shore district where you see the Santa Maria del Mar church - the former residence of sailors, traders and craftsmen who lived and worked there in the Middle Ages.

The tour finishes on the most vivid street in Barcelona La Rambla. Here you have a chance to rest at one of its open air terraces.

Day 3: Tour of Sagrada Familia & Train to Pamplona

After breakfast you check out from the hotel and meet your guide and enjoy a fantastic half-day sightseeing tour dedicated to the world-renowned architectural masterpiece of Antonio Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia Basilica.

During the tour you get to see Gaudi's astonishing creation and find out some facts about his one-of-a-kind construction techniques and his life story.

After the tour you have some free time to continue exploring the area on your own. You then get to the train station where you board your train to exhilarating Pamplona (regular class train tickets are included). Transfer to the train station is not included, you will need to take a taxi or use public transport.

Note: Taxi service in all of Spain is extremely developed and is easily spotted at any public places and hotels. Taxi cost is usually $5-8. Private transfer is available upon request (cost is $42 per person).

The city is worldwide-known for hosting the famous San Fermin Festival known for the "Running of the Bulls". The traditional Spanish event, held annually from July 6 to 14, involves running in front of a small group of 6 toro bravo breed bulls, that have been let loose in specially fenced narrow rows on the city's streets.

Upon arrival you are transferred to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 4: Sightseeing in Pamplona

Following breakfast in your hotel you go on a walking city tour of Pamplona, a city set on an elevated terrace that stands in the midst of the Arga valley crowned by mountains.

The city was named after the Roman general Pompey and has a rich history. Despite urban development in the 20th century the city preserved the medieval design of the streets of the Old Town and has incorporated the military citadel and most of its early fortifications into its city plan.

Your sightseeing tour includes the Plaza del Castillo, the Plaza de Toros (bullring), the oldest part of Pamplona to its Roman foundations that date back to 75 B.C., the Camino de Santiago, entering the Cathedral and seeing the 1756 Town Hallfrom the outside. After the tour you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 5: Transfer to San Sebastian & Sightseeing Tour

In the morning after breakfast you check out from your hotel and go to the bus station (no transfer included) for your bus to San Sebastian - a Spanish coastal beauty. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city to leave your luggage. You then meet with your local guide to have a wonderful sightseeing tour around beautiful city.

During the tour you see the Kursaal Palace area, the historic Cathedral area and one of the most-visited tourist sites - Santa Maria del Coro's Basilica, an 18 century baroque church built on the site of an ancient Roman temple. You then proceed to the local market and shopping area, see the Old Town, the port and the bay of La Concha.

After the tour you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 6: Free Day in San Sebastian & Bus to Bilbao

After breakfast you can dedicate your time to exploring the city on your own, relaxing on the beach or having a walk down the breathtaking coastline and enjoying the surrounding beauty. We also recommend visiting a local restaurant or bar to try Basque cider and "pintxas" - tasty local snacks the city is famous for.

After check out in the afternoon you go to the bus station (no transfer included) for your bus to Bilbao, the biggest city of the Basque region.

Upon arrival you are transferred to your downtown hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 7: Bilbao City Tour & Transfer to Oviedo

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and meet your experienced guide who takes you on a fantastic sightseeing tour around the city's most interesting landmarks.

During the tour you see the Guggenheim-Bilbao museum (from the outside), explore the Casco Viejo - Old Town made up by the city's 7 calles - streets that are the origins of Bilbao, pass the beautiful Cathedral of Santiago, and enjoy the views of the Yohn's Palace or the Arriaga theater - named in honor of the "Spanish Mozart". As a tour highlight you have a panoramic tram ride.

After the tour you go to the bus station for your bus ride to Oviedo (no transfer included). Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel for check-in and have the rest of the day free.

Day 8: Exploring Oviedo & Transfer to Leon

In the morning you check out from the hotel. You meet your guide and go on a sightseeing tour of main Oviedo attractions.

Oviedo is the incredible capital of Asturias, known for its medieval old town, the site of the Gothic Oviedo Cathedral with its 9th-century Holy Chamber.

In the afternoon you go to the train station (no transfer included) to continue your exciting trip to Leon - the beautiful capital of the Province of Leon. In about 2 hours you arrive in Leon where your driver meets you and transfers you to your downtown hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 9: Leon Highlights & Train to Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast you meet your guide who takes on a wonderful walking tour around the Leon's most treasured attractions, including the Cathedral and the Royal Pantheon. The city is home to many churches and cathedrals noted for their architecture and art. Among them is the Gothic 13th-century Catedral de Leon, with its towers and flying buttresses, and the Romanesque 10th-century Basilica de San Isidoro, known for its frescoes and royal tombs.

After the tour you go to the train station (no transfer included) for your train to Santiago de Compostela. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel for check-in and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10: Touring Santiago de Compostela

In the morning after breakfast and meet your guide and go on a sightseeing tour of Santiago de Compostela.

During the tour you see its main attractions, including the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela. The capital of northwest Spain’s Galicia region is known as the culmination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, and the alleged burial site of the Biblical apostle St. James.

After the tour you return to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.

Day 11: Madrid Sightseeing Tour & Prado Museum

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver takes you to the airport for your flight to Madrid (flight tickets are included).

Upon arrival to Madrid, your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your centrally located hotel to leave your luggage. After that you meet your guide and go on your first sightseeing tour of Madrid.

During the tour you pass the Parque del Retiro, Puerta de Alcala, Plaza Cibeles, and three monumental fountains: Cibeles, Apolo and Neptuno. Next you proceed to the Spanish Parliament building, see the Atocha train station and explore the area of the Golden Triangle of Art made up of three most important art museums of Madrid - the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemitza and the Reina Sofia.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to one of the world's greatest art galleries and Madrid's top cultural sight - the Prado Museum. This venue houses a unique collection of Spanish fine art displayed in the halls and rooms of this 18th-century Neo-Classical building. You see the most significant gems of the museum's collection, including the famous masterpieces of El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, Raphael and Rubens.

After the tour you are taken back to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 12: Madrid Old Town Tour

Following breakfast you meet your guide and enjoy a fascinating sightseeing tour around the most brilliant attractions of Madrid de los Austrias - the amazing old town of the Spanish capital that treasures historical monuments dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries when Spain was ruled by the House of the Hapsburgh.

During the tour you take a walk around Plaza de Oriente, enter the gorgeous Royal Palace called Palacio Real, see the beautiful exteriors of the Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Almudena and stroll through Major Street.

Next you proceed to Plaza de la Villa, stop by St. Michel's Market and walk down the picturesque Cava de San Miguel. Your tour finishes at iconic Plaza Mayor and breathtaking Puerta del Sol.

After the touring is over you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 13: Departure from Madrid

This is the last day of your amazing tour of Spain's Northern cities! After breakfast your driver transfers you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future trips!
