Arrival to Kiev

Welcome to the capital of Ukraine - Kiev! Upon arrival, you are met by your private driver, who transfers you to your hotel for check-in.

Kiev City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you meet with your private guide and driver and start your sightseeing tour of Kiev highlights.

Kiev is one of the oldest surviving cities of ancient Russ. The kingdom of Kievan Russ, from which Russia, the Ukraine, and Belarus descended, was established between the 9th and 11th centuries and was one of the most advanced principalities in Europe before it was finally destroyed by the Mongols. The Mongols were particularly keen on burning Kiev, so much so that they raided it every few years to ensure that it never recovered its power and influence. It was in the shadow of this titanic struggle that the small principality of Moscow began building in power.

Your city tour includes the major highlights of the city including the Bessarabska Square, Friendship Arch/Park Bridge, Ukrainian House, Independence (Maidan) and European Squares, St.Sophia Cathedral and the Kiev University.

After a break for lunch, you continue to Michael's Golden Dome Monastery, Central (Brodsky) Synagogue and St. Andrew's Church.

After the tour, you are taken to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Tour of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

Following breakfast at the hotel, you meet with your private guide and driver and embark on a tour to discover one of the most interesting sights in Kiev - the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Monastery.

Dating back to the 11th century, it was the first large Christian temple built on Russian lands. The Monastery is a gigantic complex with various churches and structures on the surface and intricate caves and labyrinths underneath.

You then explore the Church of Elevation of Cross and the Great Lavra Bell Tower. Next on your list is the mighty Motherland Monument "Rodina Mat" which is a 203 ft stainless steel statue overlooking Kiev, it celebrates the victory over Nazi Germany in WW2.

After a break for lunch, you enjoy a guided walk through Independence Square, the central street Kreschatik, and the historical part of Kiev - Podol.

After the tour, you are taken to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Train to Lviv

After breakfast and check-out, your driver takes you to the train station for your direct train to Lviv. Upon arrival in about 5 hours, you are met by your private driver, who transfers you to your hotel for check-in.

Lviv Old Town Walking Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you meet with your private guide and start your walking sightseeing tour of unmissable Lviv sights. Lviv is the heart and soul of Western Ukraine, Prince Danylo built this city in 1256 and named it after his son Lev (meaning "lion").

You'll surely notice the prevalent lion adornments all around town as well as the Renaissance architecture of the city of 15th - 16th centuries. Often referred to as the cultural center of Ukraine, the "city of Lions", is easily recognized by its cathedrals' graceful domes and the city's colorful tiled roofs.

During the tour of Lviv, you get to see the High Castle and Apteka museum. While touring the Old Town, you see the St.Nicholas Church, the Dominican Church, and the Church of Onufriy which is now home to the Museum of Ivan Fedorov, the first book-printer.

After a break for lunch, you proceed with a walking tour in medieval quarters. Among your major stops is the Market Square, or "Rynok Square", it is the heart of Lviv and home to stunning palaces, fountains, statues, crowds, and cafés. Among other major sights you see are the Dominican Church, the Armenian Quarter, and the remnants of city fortifications. The Jewish Quarter and the Bernardine monastery are on your agenda too.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Museum of Folk Architecture & Lychakiv Cemetery Tour

Following breakfast at the hotel, you meet with your private guide and driver and start yet another sightseeing tour of Lviv's surroundings.

The first stop on your list today is the cemetery of Lytschakiv, one of the oldest graveyards in Europe, dating from 1567. Lviv’s most prominent graveyard is an open-air museum today which is sometimes referred to as a "gallery of artwork", many famous people of the Ukraine and Poland such as Iwan Franko, Solomija Kruschelnyzka, Volodymyr Ivasjuk, Markijan Schaschkevytsch, Gabriela Zapolska, Stefan Banach, Maria Konopnicka and many others are buried there.

One of the highlights of today is a visit to The Scansen, an open-air museum of the Ukrainian wooden architecture where you can see different utilities of traditional village life. Sccansen is set in a marvelous location in Shevchenkivskyi Hai (forest) and is home to over 10000 craft-items brought from various ethnographical regions of Western Ukraine. As you stroll the museum, you can feel the unique atmosphere of picturesque Ukrainian villages and see the remarkable wooden churches from the Carpathian region, noted among the most exquisite examples of Ukrainian wooden architecture.

After a break for lunch, you continue your sightseeing tour with a visit to a popular local coffee house followed by the brewery museum, where you have a chance to taste the locally brewed beers.

After the tour, you are taken back to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.
