Once settled in, the city is yours to discover — step outside and let the vibrant streets, enticing aromas, and buzzing café terraces of Mexico City work their magic from the very first evening.
Mexico City Highlights Walking Tour
Today, step into the beating heart of one of the world's most captivating cities. After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and take you on an immersive walking tour through Mexico City's magnificent UNESCO-listed Historic Centre.
Wander past the vast Zócalo — one of the largest city squares in the world — marvel at the imposing Metropolitan Cathedral, and explore the ancient ruins of Templo Mayor, the ceremonial core of the great Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán.
The tour continues to the elegant Palacio de Bellas Artes, a breathtaking masterpiece of Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture that stands as a symbol of Mexico's rich cultural life. Dive deep into the soul of Mexico City on this richly varied tour through some of the capital's most beloved and culturally significant neighbourhoods. Glide along the ancient canals of Xochimilco aboard a colourful traditional trajinera — a waterway that has wound through Mexican life for centuries — before stepping into the bohemian cobblestone streets of Coyoacán, one of the city's most charming and historic districts.
Continue to the impressive campus of UNAM, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its extraordinary collection of murals and iconic modernist architecture. The tour culminates at the Casa Azul — the legendary Blue House where Frida Kahlo was born, lived, and created some of her most powerful works — offering an intimate and moving encounter with one of Mexico's greatest artistic icons.
Inclusions: transportation, guide, 1-hour ride on a traditional trajinera, food served on the trajinera, 2 non-alcoholic beverages per person, visits to Coyoacán, the Frida Kahlo Museum, and UNAM, including the Central Library, Olympic Stadium, and murals, 1 bottle of water per person, and 1 snack bag (chips) per person.
