Today is a free day to relax and prepare for your Camino Inglés pilgrimage, the final 100 km to Santiago de Compostela. If you would like to receive the Compostela certificate at the end of your journey, you will need to obtain a Pilgrim Passport (Credencial) before you start walking.

Ferrol - Pontedeume
Today marks the first day of your Camino journey—good luck as you begin this meaningful walk! The journey from Ferrol follows a scenic route that soon meets the Way of O Salto, before joining the Camino Real along the banks of the Eume estuary. Along the way, you’ll encounter charming coastal landscapes and historic villages. A perfect spot to pause is A Magdalena Beach, where pilgrims can rest, enjoy the sea breeze, and take in the serene surroundings before continuing toward Pontedeume. This stage combines gentle walking with beautiful natural scenery, making it a refreshing start to the Camino Inglés.

Reaching Pontedeume
Welcome to the historic town of Pontedeume, your destination for today!
Today, take some time to relax and enjoy the town’s picturesque streets and medieval charm. If you still have plenty of energy, don’t miss the chance to explore the riverside promenade and sample some local Galician delicacies at nearby cafés and restaurants.

Pontedeume - Betanzos
Today, you continue your Camino journey as you leave Pontedeume and head toward Betanzos.
From Pontedeume the trail climbs up to give spectacular views over Betanzos, Ares and Ferrol. The trail continues on to Miño by way of a medieval stone bridge over the Baxoi river and the Camino Real once again. You will then travel along the coast to the wide estuary of the Lambre river on a path that holds beautiful views of the Rias de Betanzos and the surrounding marshlands. The town of Betanzos has some of the most interesting and artistic, historical buildings in Galicia.

Welcome to Betanzos, a historic town famous for its medieval streets, charming squares, and rich Galician traditions!
This is your final destination for today. Take some time to rest, wander through the old town, or enjoy a local café. Don’t miss the chance to try Betanzos’ renowned tarta de Betanzos—a local specialty that perfectly complements your Camino experience.

Betanzos - O Mesón do Vento
Today during the day you will cross the Mendo River by way of the ancient bridge of As Cascas. From here the trail passes the villages of Matino and Boucello. You will pass the hermitage of San Paio, which is abandoned and travel through agricultural lands to the village of O Mesón do Vento
which is the site of a medieval hospital.

Welcome to O Mesón do Vento, a quaint village nestled in the Galician countryside!
This is your final destination for today. Take some time to rest, explore the peaceful streets, or enjoy a snack at a local café. The village’s tranquil setting offers the perfect opportunity to recharge before continuing your Camino journey.

O Mesón do Vento - Sigüeiro
Today, your Camino journey leaves O Mesón do Vento and winds through the lush, verdant landscapes of Ordes, where rolling hills and peaceful countryside accompany your steps. Along the way, you will pass the charming church of San Xiao, a serene spot to pause and reflect on your pilgrimage. The path then leads through the quaint village of Casanova, with its traditional stone houses and welcoming local atmosphere, before continuing onward to Sigüeiro.
This stage offers a beautiful blend of nature and rural Galician life, making it a perfect day to immerse yourself in the tranquility and scenic charm of the Camino Inglés.

Reaching Sigüeiro
Welcome to Sigüeiro, a charming town surrounded by Galicia’s green countryside!
This is your final destination for today. Take some time to rest, stroll through the town’s peaceful streets, or enjoy a snack at a local café. Sigüeiro’s tranquil atmosphere makes it a perfect place to pause and recharge, preparing you for the final stage of your Camino Inglés pilgrimage.

Sigüeiro - Santiago de Compostela
Today marks the final stage of your pilgrimage. Leaving Sigüeiro, you will make your final ascent toward Santiago de Compostela. The trail guides you through small villages, woodlands, and peaceful countryside until the spires of the Cathedral finally come into view.

You’ve completed the last 100 km of the Camino Portugués Coastal Route, following in the footsteps of centuries of pilgrims. Whether you choose to attend the Pilgrim’s Mass, collect your Compostela certificate, or simply rest and reflect, this is a moment to be proud of.
