Arrival in Ajaccio
As they say, Corsica is a land of beauty and contrasts—and Ajaccio, its sun-kissed capital, is the perfect starting point! Bonjour and welcome to the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte and one of the Mediterranean’s most charming coastal cities.
Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and take you to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy—stroll through Ajaccio’s historic old town, relax by the sea, dine at a local restaurant, or simply unwind in the comfort of your hotel.
Exploring Bavella Mountain & Alta Rocca Area
After breakfast, meet your private driver and embark on a full-day adventure through one of Corsica’s most captivating regions.
You depart from Porto-Vecchio and, after about 1.5 hours of scenic driving, arrive in the Alta Rocca area, framed by the dramatic Bavella mountains.
Alta Rocca is a mountainous region renowned for its exceptionally rich flora and fauna, as well as its diverse and stunning landscapes. With over 9,000 years of history, it is one of the oldest continuously inhabited areas in Corsica.
Together with your guide, you will spend the day exploring this remarkable territory—wandering through picturesque villages, discovering ancient Romanesque churches, chapels, and convents, and immersing yourself in the unique cultural heritage of the island’s highlands.
After a full and enriching day, you return to your hotel to relax and reflect on your experience.
Ajaccio Walking Tour – In the Footsteps of Napoleon
In the morning, meet your guide in the hotel lobby for a walking tour through Ajaccio, beautifully set between mountains and the sea, facing the Sanguinaires Islands.
Explore the city’s historical highlights, including the Bonaparte House, where Napoleon was born and raised, and the 16th-century Cathedral, where he was baptized.
After the tour, enjoy free time to browse local markets and shops or relax by the fountain in Place Foch. If you wish, visit the nearby Fesch Museum, home to the second-largest collection of Italian art in France, after the Louvre.
Early this morning, you meet your guide-driver and join a shared full-day tour to discover the southern beauty of Corsica.
Your first stop is Sartène, often called the “most Corsican of Corsican towns,” where you enjoy a coffee break. Continuing along the scenic route, you pause at Roccapina, a stunning bay guarded by a natural granite lion.
Upon arrival in Bonifacio, perched atop dramatic limestone cliffs, you’ll explore the surrounding landscape with breathtaking views over the gulf. Your guide leads you through the upper town, then provides a detailed map so you can enjoy some free time to discover the citadel and port at your own pace.
(Lunch available on site at additional cost.)
