Today after an early breakfast you walk to the railway station to begin an exciting train journey to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe.

As you make your way to the 'Top of Europe' you experience riding several trains with panoramic windows to view the most of the incredible Alpine area. Your first destination is Grindelwald, where you change trains and depart to Kleine Scheidegg. This section offers the stunning view of Eigerwand (Eiger Wall), one of the Great north faces of the Alps. The last Kleine Scheidegg - Jungfraujoch cogwheel train partly passes through the tunnel, which was built right across the Eiger rocks at an altitude of 3000 m (9,843 ft). Jungfraujoch is the high-Alpine wonderland of eternal snow and ice*. All this beauty could be marveled at from one of the observation decks located both inside and outside of a 3-story observatory building.

  • Please, note: It is important to wear something warm and wind/rain protective when going to Jungfraujoch. The temperature there is usually lower than in the cities even in summer. In case you feel too cold you can always go inside the restaurants which are close to the observation deck.

You can take an interesting walk through the Ice Cave where everything around you is made from ice. The area includes several restaurants, cafés, and shops as well as a place for snow activities to satisfy any taste.

For the ride back you travel first to Kleine Scheidegg and then you take a new route: to Interlaken via Lauterbrunnen. This way you see the stunning alpine area from a new perspective. You then return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 7

Train to Montreux

Today after breakfast you check out, go to the station and board a train which takes you to the next destination. Within about an hour you reach Montreux located on the shores of Geneva Lake and known as 'Swiss Riviera'.

Upon arrival, you go to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to have rest and to spend time enjoying views of Geneva Lake.

Today prepare for a day of delicious touring! Following breakfast, you board the Chocolate train to start your trip to Gruyeres. Onboard you are treated to chocolate croissant and coffee.

Your first activity today is a tour of the cheese factory La Maison du Gruyere, where you learn about cows, milk, and cheese making process; multilingual headsets are provided for you.

Next on your list is the tour of the legendary Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory in Broc where you are transferred by bus. Here you learn about the history of these tasty sweets and discover the secrets of Swiss chocolate production. Your visit is commented in English, and right after the tour, you are invited for chocolate tasting.

After you return to your hotel in Montreux by Chocolate train, the rest of the day is free.

Day 9

Day Trip to Chillon Castle and Tour of Montreux

After breakfast you take a public boat cruise on Lake Geneva to reach the most recognizable historic monument in Switzerland - Chillon Castle which dates back to medieval ages. First you admire the exterior of this historical monument from water. Upon disembarkation you have a private guided touring around the most spectacular parts of Chillon Castle.

  • Optional activity: Wine Tasting in Chillon Castle

Following Chillon you head for Montreux where you meet your guide and have a private walking tour. We had a top-notch tour to the UK. Even more than top-notch, "ace" as the locals say!

We had a top-notch tour to the UK in June 2016. Even more than top-notch, "ace" as the locals say! The Treasures of Britain tour my husband and I took was everything we wanted. We really liked the hotels we stayed in, each with its own charm and history. Particularly we would like to note breakfasts in the hotel in ...

Superb tour to Italy! You really deserve a round of applause

I wasn't sure what to expect from our trip to Italy but my mom and I were very surprised with how smoothly everything went. Only a few minor hiccups that were too minor to even mention. We enjoyed the guided tours because all the views were really great and the buildings so old. The sites were a bit crowded but still ...

London, Brussels, Amsterdam Tour (May 2017)

Overall, very good. The group did not like starting off on a crowded 20-stop subway journey instead of the Heathrow Express. Guides were great. Brussels was 50/50 with the group. If we had more interior visits, it would have been better. We will eliminate the Hague next time, and spend more time in Rotterdam. ...
