Following breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and be transferred to the train station, where you’ll embark on an unforgettable journey aboard The Ghan Expedition Train to Adelaide on the Red Centre Explorer.


Beginning in Darwin, this four-day, all-inclusive expedition takes you to some of the most remote and captivating parts of Australia. Operating April to October, your adventure through the country’s vast, varied, and captivating interior will demonstrate the true meaning of the Australian outback. In the Northern Territory, explore Katherine and Alice Springs, where you’ll enjoy a signature dining experience at The Historic Telegraph Station, and in South Australia, stop at Manguri and Coober Pedy before reaching your final destination of Adelaide.

This four-day, all-inclusive adventure operates April to October in 2025 and from March to November in 2026, with departures from Darwin on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Travel through the Northern Territory, exploring Katherine and Alice Springs, where you'll enjoy a signature dining experience at The Historic Telegraph Station. In South Australia, visit Manguri and Coober Pedy before arriving in Adelaide.

Welcome to Adelaide – a charming city known for its vibrant arts scene, world-class wineries, and beautiful parklands! 

After your incredible three-day train journey, your driver will meet you at the station and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. There are no scheduled activities for today, so you can relax after your journey, enjoy a meal at one of the city’s renowned restaurants, take a leisurely stroll through the city, or simply unwind in your room before the adventures ahead.

Your journey begins with insights into Adelaide's history and recommendations for dining and sightseeing. The tour then proceeds to the Adelaide Oval and through North Adelaide, showcasing its stunning federation architecture. A visit to Mount Lofty offers breathtaking city views, followed by a leisurely exploration of Hahndorf, a charming German village with boutique shops and eateries. The journey continues through the picturesque Adelaide Hills towards McLaren Vale, featuring a wine tasting experience at Chapel Hill Winery.
