Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Stockholm

Welcome to the royal capital of Sweden - Stockholm! Your private driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your centrally located hotel.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent city center on your own, dine in one of the local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

No meals included.

Day 2: Exploring the Old Town of Stockholm

After breakfast you meet your guide and enjoy a 3-hour walking city tour around the most interesting attractions of Stockholm. 

During the tour you explore the brilliant Old Town that is one of the biggest and most well-preserved medieval Old Towns in Europe and see the famous Royal Palace, the Stockholm Cathedral and the City Hall (no entrances included).

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Optional activities: Skansen & Vasa Museum tour
Explore two world-famous museums during a 3-hour guided tour. You start with the Vasa Museum located on the island of Djurgården. It displays the only almost fully intact 17th century ship that sank on its maiden voyage. It is rated as the most visited museum in entire Scandinavia. The next stop of your tour is Skansen - the first open-air museum and zoo in Sweden that demonstrates the country's life before the industrial era. It is the world's oldest open-air museum and zoo admired by locals and tourists alike. The tour is organized with minibus services.

Archipelago cruise
The Stockholm Archipelago is made up by over 30 000 islands. Spend a scenic day on board - the best way to see all parts of the Stockholm archipelago. During the three-hour cruise enjoy incredible views and learn about the peculiarities of the surrounding area as you glide by.

Visit to the Ice Bar
The Icebar by Icehotel in Stockholm is an exclusive and highly popular location and fun pastime designed for all guests to chill. The cold interior is stylishly decorated with statues carved out of ice blocks. Icebar is famous for all alcoholic and non alcoholic refreshments served "IN rocks" poured in glasses made of ice. Everything starting from the bar tables, decorations, even the glasses which are made of ice along with the unique atmosphere make Icebar a memorable experience. One drink is included in every entry ticket. The temperature is -5°C here all year long so note that special warm clothes are a must.

Day 3: Flight to Kiruna

After breakfast you are transferred to the airport for a quick flight to Kiruna (flight tickets are included). Upon arrival you have a private transfer to the original Ice Hotel - the world’s first and largest hotel built entirely of snow and ice. 

Note: Warm accommodation in a traditional hotel is available on request.

The rest of the day is at your leisure. You can enjoy the surrounding nature on your own, spend this evening relaxing at the sauna or even practice in ice sculpting. 

Optional tour: Northern Lights snowmobile tour with dinner
Northern Lights snowmobile tour is a wonderful option for your evening in Kiruna. Join your specially trained guide for a nightly excursion in search of the Northern Lights. For the best chance to see this phenomenon you head out into the untouched wilderness of the neighborhood. During the tour your guide will make short stops and tell interesting stories about the mythical Aurora Borealis. Three-course dinner is included.

Day 4: Train Ride to Lulea & Harads Village Tour

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to the train station to board a train that takes you to Lulea (train tickets are included).

Upon arrival you are transferred to the charming village of Harads to leave your luggage at the unique Tree Hotel nestled in the middle of the forest. 

You then invited to enjoy a walking tour around the village with a kick-sled ride. After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Optional tours: Bear dinner with a Sami Story
In the glow of the fire experience the Sami Bear Ceremony. Hear the ancient Legend of the Bear, learn about the Sami rituals, hunting traditions, and celebrations, including Sami songs. Afterward taste the exquisite Nordic meat during the 3 course a la carte bear dinner with natural local alcohol-free drinks. Wine and beer can be purchased separately.

Tour of the Storforsen Nature Reserve
The Storforsen Nature Reserve is home to Northern Europe's largest rapid, which doesn't freeze even in the extreme cold. Together with your guide drive through a forest. If you're lucky you can spot reindeer. At Storforsen, you walk an easy 2 km nature trail of wooden walkways, which takes you upstream close to the rapid. Continue to the warming fire, where you are treated to an organic meal made on the traditional Muurrikka pan. Overall duration of the tour - 5 hours.

Day 5: Transfer to Rovaniemi & Free Evening

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and continue your journey to the Mortherland of Santa Claus - Rovaniemi (private transfer is included).

Upon arrival you are transferred to your newly opened boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Rovaniemi. The rest of the day is free, so you can start exploring the nearby attractions on your own, take a walk around the charming city streets, or have a good rest to prepare for an exciting program that awaits you tomorrow.

In the evening we invite you to enjoy a wonderful dinner at an authentic Nili restaurant ranked the best in Rovaniemi. The atmosphere of an old Finland along with a set menu of delicious dishes will grant you with lots of emotions. 

Breakfast and dinner are included.

Day 6: Snowmobile Safari & Visit of Santa Claus Village

This day starts with a 1-hour snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm where you meet traditionally dressed people, learn more about reindeer husbandry and Lappish culture and enjoy a short reindeer sleigh and husky ride.

Note: Due to unsuitable weather conditions (e.g. there is no snow or it is raining), a snowmobile ride and reindeer sleigh will be replaced with a visit to the Arktikum Museum.

Your next stop is a famous Santa Claus Village where you enjoy a buffet lunch in one of the local restaurants. You then have free time to buy some traditional Finnish souvenirs, send postcards with special Arctic Circle stamp from Santa Claus main post office and visit the Snowman World and its famous ice bar.

After the tour you are transferred back to your hotel.

Optional activity: Sauna, ice hole and hot tube tour
Treat yourself to a relaxing evening authentic Finnish style in a sauna located on a beautiful riverside. In the beginning of your tour learn about the Finnish sauna, its traditions, and benefits from a sauna master. Then during 3 hours immerse yourself in the soothing atmosphere of the warmth of the pre-heated sauna and hot tub and relax in the silent surroundings under the northern sky. Experience the best steam in the saunas, which are heated by wood, including the exotic tent sauna. Once you have warmed up, plunge into the ice hole for a refreshing dip. The adrenalin rush after the dip is a very pleasant one and you can continue to enjoy the sauna and the hot tub.

Day 7: Transfer to Kakslauttanen & Free Evening

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver takes you to the picturesque Ivalo region famous for its amazing Northern Lights experiences. 

Upon arrival to the village of Saariselkä you are transferred to its famous Kakslauttanen Glass Igloo Resort. The rest of the day is free to explore the surrounding area on your own. The evening is crowned with dinner at your hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to Inari & Visiting the Sami Museum

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver takes you to your final destination - the authentic Inari region known as the center of Sami culture.

Upon arrival you leave your luggage at your centrally located hotel and have a 1-hour guided tour to the Sami Museum and Nature Center that provides you with a deep insight into the culture, traditions and nature of Northern Lapland. You then have two additional hours to explore this museum on your own.

After the tour your return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Optional tour: Reindeer & Sami Handicraft
Be warmly welcomed into the home of an Inari local. Come and be a guest in the home of an Inari local, where you will get a real sense of Lapland way of life. The hosts live in a remote location by the beautiful Muddus Lake with reindeer. The hosts will first introduce you to the reindeer before inviting you in their house where you will learn about Sami handicraft, for example how traditional reindeer boots are made. *Note: The tour is available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Day 9: Departure from Ivalo

This is the final day of your amazing Great Lapland adventure! After breakfast you are transferred to the Ivalo airport for your flight to Helsinki. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future trips!
