Athens City Tour

Following breakfast in the hotel, you meet your guide and driver and make your way to Kerameikos, the largest and most prominent necropolis in Athens. Your exploration begins with walls of Athens that were built in the 5th century B.C. by Themistokles, dividing the area into two sections: the Inner Kerameikos (which was the potter's quarter of the city) and the Outer Kerameikos (home to an important cemetery and numerous funerary sculptures erected along the road towards Eleusis, leading out of town).

Afterward, you make your way to The Temple of Olympian Zeus & Hadrian's Arch (short visit). This colossal ruined temple was dedicated to Zeus, the greatest of all Olympian gods.

You then continue your tour to the Panathenaic Stadium, often referred to as Kallimarmaro (translated as "beautifully marbled"). This ancient stadium was the exact place where the first modern Olympic games were held back in 1896. Then, you make your way to the highest hill of Athens Lycabettus, which appears in various legends.

One more point on your travel agenda today is the Royal Palace and today's Parliament, with the elite unit known as the Evzones in their picturesque uniforms guarding the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier. Continue with a drive along Panepistimiou Avenue to get a glimpse of the beauty of the most famous Athenian NeoClassical buildings before arriving at the Ancient Agora of Athens which is among the finest examples of classic Greek architecture that has made it to our days practically intact.

After the tour, you are transferred back to your hotel and have the remaining part of the day free.

Breakfast is included.

Tour of Acropolis & Ferry to Milos

This day is devoted to exploring one of the most iconic places in entire Greece, marvelous Acropolis. After breakfast in the hotel, you meet your guide in the hotel lobby and start a 4-hour private walking tour.

You begin with a walk through Dionisiou Areopagitou Street which one of the most impressive streets of Athens, offering a spectacular view of Acropolis's southern slope, where some of the most significant monuments stand. You enter the archeological area of the Acropolis on the southern slope to avoid the crowds, and just to your right is the most ancient theater of the world, the glorious Theater of Dionysus.

Your next stop is the Odeion of Herodes Atticus, and before reaching the highest point in Acropolis, you pass through the unique Beule Gate that's part of the Roman fortifications of the Acropolis. Moreover, you get to see the Temple Of the Athena Victory (often called the Temple of Athena Nike), this small, elegant, Ionian, amphiprostyle temple was built by the architect Callicrates back in 426-421 B.C. in commemoration of the victory of the Greeks against the Persians.

Then you reach the Propylaea - one of the masterpieces of classical architecture. Another highlight of the day is seeing the Temple of Erechtheion, built from 420-406 B.C. at the holiest site of the Acropolis, where the goddess Athena planted the olive tree, her sacred symbol.

Climbing down the Acropolis hill you reach the New Acropolis Museum which is among the most important contemporary works of architecture in Athens (entrance ticket included). The last level (The Parthenon room) has the dimensions and the direction of the Parthenon, and it is been rotated by 23 degrees in relation to the rest of the building so that the visitors would have an immediate view of the monument.

After the tour, you return to your hotel, grab your bags, check out, and meet your private driver who takes you to the Piraeus Sea Port for a short ferry ride to the Milos Island. Upon arrival at a city port, Adamas, you have a transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure.

Milos Full-Day Tour & Catacombs of Milos

Next morning after breakfast, you meet with your local guide and go on a fantastic full-day tour of Milos Island. Your first stop is one of the most impressive sites in Greece, the Papafragkas cave. This wonder of nature once was a hidden cove of pirates and now is one of the most amazing tourist attractions on the island. Swimming in the warm crystal-clear waters of the cave is an unforgettable experience and a fantastic way to start your Milos exploration.

Then, you proceed to the most popular photoshoot site of the island, the jaw-dropping Sarakiniko Beach. It seems like this amazing place just can't belong to our planet, its landscapes seem more like a setting for a Sci-Fi movie. The recipe for its out-of-this-world landscapes is very simple. The strong winds from the north, always-present waves, and the beautiful grey volcanic rock formations. After the Sarakiniko Beach, you visit a charming town of Plaka for lunch and enjoy a nice walk along its lovely narrow streets and hills.

After that, you proceed to one more significant historical and archeological site of the island, the wonderous Catacombs of Milos, dating back to the 1st-5th century. Despite an impressive age, the catacombs are considered to be among the best-preserved catacombs in the world and are believed to be the 3rd greatest pre-Christian structure! Interestingly, one of the most famous ancient statues, the Venus de Milo, was found in the Catacombs of Milos in 1820.

When the tour of catacombs is over, you set off on a return journey. On the way back to Adamas, you visit the local fishing village of Klima and stop for a swim at one of the scenic local beaches. Upon arrival, you have the evening free to enjoy the city on your own.
