Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Barcelona

Welcome to the lively capital of Catalonia - Barcelona! Your driver meets you at the exit gates of the airport holding a sign with your name on it and transfers you to your centrally located hotel.

The rest of the day is free so you can either explore the fantastic center of Barcelona on your own, dine in one of the local restaurants or take a good rest before the rich sightseeing program planned for the following day.

No meals included.

Day 2: Tour of Barcelona Gothic Quarters

After breakfast your guide meets you in a hotel lobby and takes you on a wonderful panoramic half-day tour around the most outstanding attractions of Barcelona.

Barcelona obtains one of the biggest and architecturally diverse Medieval districts in Europe. During the city tour you get to see Barcelona's Old Town called "Casc Antic" and its medieval landmarks. 

Your tour begins with a walk through the maze of old narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter that was formed around the Roman forum. Then you see the Barcelona Cathedral both from the outside and the inside, pass the former Jewish District "Call", the Sant Jaume Square, see the Generalitat Palace and City Hall from the outside, pass the Square of the King and the former Royal Palace.

You then proceed to the Ribera shore district where you see the Santa María del Mar church - the former residence of sailors, traders and craftsmen who lived and worked there in the Middle Ages. The tour finishes on the most vivid street in Barcelona La Rambla, where you can take a rest at one of the open air terraces. 

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 3: Free Day in Barcelona

This day is free for you to continue exploring Barcelona and its amazing attractions on your own or join our carefully designed optional tours.

Optional tour #1: Gaudi Heritage Tour
Enjoy a fantastic half-day tour dedicated to the world-renowned architectural works of Antonio Gaudi. During the tour you get to see his astonishing creations and find out some facts about his one-of-a-kind construction techniques and his life story. You start with a visit to the astonishing Sagrada Familia Cathedral that he worked on for 43 years. Then on to the colorful Park Guell, where you spend some time strolling through its mosaic paths, taking in the great city views and fairy tale-like atmosphere. Today you also see the beautiful Batlló House and Milà House with modernist designs and futuristic shapes.

Optional tour #2: Trip to the Montserrat Monastery
After breakfast you enjoy a full day trip to the Montserrat - the picturesque multi-peaked mountain in the middle of Spain’s first national park. During the tour you visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, learn more about the history of the region, take a walk through the beautiful park and enjoy excellent views toward Barcelona. After the tour you are transferred back to your hotel in Barcelona.

Optional tour #3: Camp Nou Tour & Museum
This tour takes you behind the scenes of the Camp Nou - the biggest football stadium in Europe. During the tour you retrace the footsteps of the FC Barcelona football legends visiting the changing room and walking through the players tunnel onto the stadium. Then you visit the presidential and press boxes, and see the FC Barcelona documentaries in the multi-media zone. You finish the tour with a visit to the FC Barcelona Museum, where you learn about the history of the club and see its well-deserved La Liga and Champions League trophies. Note: This tour is unavailable on match days at the Camp Nou stadium. We can also book football match tickets, if any matches are held during your stay in Barcelona.

Day 4: Train Ride to Madrid & Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to the railway station where you board a high-speed train to Madrid (1st class train tickets are included).  

Upon arrival you are transferred to your centrally located hotel to leave your luggage. You then meet your guide and enjoy a fascinating sightseeing tour around the most brilliant attractions of Madrid de los Austrias - the amazing old town that treasures historical monuments dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries when Spain was ruled by the House of the Hapsburgh. 

During the tour you take a walk around Plaza de Oriente, enter the gorgeous Royal Palace called Palacio Real, see the beautiful exteriors of the Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Almudena and stroll through Major Street. 

Then you proceed to Plaza de la Villa, stop by St. Michel's Market and walk down the picturesque Cava de San Miguel. Your tour finishes at iconic Plaza Mayor and breathtaking Puerta del Sol

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 5: Free Day in Madrid

This day is free for you to continue exploring the fantastic capital of Spain and its amazing attractions on your own or join our carefully designed optional tour.

Optional tour #1: Visiting the Prado Museum
Today you have the chance go to one of the world's greatest art galleries and Madrid's top cultural sight - the Prado Museum. It houses its unique collection of the Spanish fine art at the numerous halls and rooms of the 18th-century Neo-Classical building. During the tour your guide shows you the most significant gems of the museum’s collection, including the famous masterpieces of El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, Raphael and Rubens.

Optional tour #2: Corrida
La Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas del Espíritu Santo is Madrid's main bullring and home to Spanish bullfighting called corrida.The bullfight season runs from March to October and the thrilling events, featuring matadores wearing suits braided in gold and furious bulls, are held every Sunday at 7 p.m. The heart-thumping bullfight usually lasts about 2 hours, yet there is no fixed time limit. Nevertheless May and June are the best months to go on a corrida in the Spanish capital as during this time the world famous San Isidro bullfight festival when fights are held 20 days in a row. During the festival you may see various styles of corrida fights including those with young bulls or bullfights on horseback. Note: tour availability depends on the corrida schedule.

Optional tour #3: Trip to Toledo
Toledo is a small fortificated town and one of the most important centers of European medieval history known as the “city of the three cultures” because of the historical co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures. Toledo is also one of the Spanish cities with the greatest wealth of monuments. During the tour you walk through its cobblestone streets, explore the fortified city walls and see the famous UNESCO World Heritage-listed medieval architecture, including the 13th-century Cathedral of Toledo and Sinagogue (entrances included).

Day 6: Flight to Lisbon

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to the airport for your flight to the capital of Portugal - Lisbon

Upon arrival you are transferred to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 7: Exploring the Highlights of Lisbon

After breakfast you meet your guide and enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Lisbon.

During the tour you drive by both the old and new towns to see their most famous attractions, including Rossio Square, Restauradores Square with the Obelisk commemorating the Restoration of Portugal’s independence from Spain in 1640, the charming neighborhood of Chiado abundant in old cafés, shops and theaters, and the Lisbon’s Sé Cathedral - the city’s oldest church.

Then you proceed to Commerce Square where you learn how the city was destroyed in 1755 by a massive earthquake, and then totally rebuilt to become the city of today. You finish the tour with a walk at the Belem Quarter, where you see the Monument to the Discoveries and the ancient Belem Tower. 

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 8: Trip to Sintra & Cascais

Following breakfast you take a trip to one of Portugal's most beautiful destinations - Sintra, that is famous for its fairytale castles and beautiful sceneries. 

Upon arrival you enjoy a guided walking tour of the historical center of Sintra. Then you proceed to the walls of the Moorish Castle - the historical 9th-century fortress built by Moors to defend the region during the Reconquista.

After that you take a short walk to the nearby fairytale National Palace of Pena, built on the grounds of a former monastery at the top of Sintra Mountain 500 meters above sea level. During the tour you enjoy breathtaking views of Sintra and its surroundings and enter the palace to see its most interesting halls and rooms, including the Arab Room and the Queen’s Throne room.

You continue your journey through the beautiful landscapes of Sintra-Cascais Natural Park to Cabo da Roca - the westernmost point in Europe, “where the land ends and sea begins”. You make a stop there to enjoy the views and take advantage of excellent photo opportunities. 

Passing by the Hell's Mouth cliff (Boca do Inferno) you finally arrives at Cascais - the charming 12th-century coastal town, where you spend time wandering around its historical city center and enjoying a relaxing walk at the beach.

After the tour you are transferred back to Lisbon soaking up the scenic views of the Atlantic coast along your way. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 9: Departure from Lisbon

This is the final day of your amazing Iberian journey! After breakfast your driver transfers you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future trips!
