On your journey, you will pass through Skagafjörður, an agricultural fjord with a rich history and charming rural scenery. Continue to Blönduós, located at the mouth of the glacial river Blanda, and consider stopping at Saðarskáli Café for a short break and refreshments.
Drive through the striking Holtavörðuheiði Highland, a broad mountain ridge between valleys offering panoramic views of Iceland’s rugged highlands. Further west, near the town of Borgarnes, explore Borgarfjörður, where the famous Hraunfossar and Barnafoss cascade through rivulets streaming from the Hallmundarhraun lava field.
