City tour
City tour

In the morning after breakfast, you meet your private guide-driver at the hotel lobby and go on an amazing 3-hour city tour around the most significant places in Reykjavik and the nearby area.

During the tour, you stop by the official residence of the President of Iceland called Bessastadir. Your next stop is Hafnarfjordur - a port town and municipality located about 10 km (6 mi) from Reykjavik. This place is known as the home of the "Hidden people" Huldufolk from local folklore, meaning elves in Icelandic.

Then you proceed to the futuristic Perlan dome from which you see spectacular views over Reykjavik and its surroundings. You make a stop at Hofdi, the building where the all-important summit between the former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and the former U.S.S.R. Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986.

Then on to the Hallgrimskirkja Church that is the tallest building in Iceland where you have a chance to walk up the stairs to see the breathtaking view of the city center (entrance tickets are not included). Another place you see today is the Althing building - a classical 19th-century building that is home to the Icelandic parliament's main debating chamber.

Golden Circle Tour

Day tour

Following breakfast, you join a group for a memorable 8-hour tour around the Golden Circle. The first on your list for today is the impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site - Thingvellir National Park. Being a place of historical significance, the Thingvellir National Park deservingly holds the title of Iceland's national pride as its place where the oldest existing parliament in the world (first assembled in 930 AD) is located.  The "Althing" took place here for almost 9 centuries, until 1800.

However, travelers from all corners of the planed are drawn to this many-sided land not only because of its rich historical heritage. Being part of a fissure zone running through Iceland, the Thingvellir region is a vast lava arena in a rift valley formed between the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates and is a unique visual representation of continental drift. Here you can also find the largest natural lake in the country - Thingvallavatn, which is surrounded by lava flows and beautiful vegetation. Today you also see the scenic Gullfoss - one of the most superb and popular waterfalls in entire Iceland.

Then you head to the Geysir area dotted with numerous hot springs, mud pools, and geysers, including the world's most active one called Strokkur.

After the tour, you return back to your Reykjavik hotel, and the rest of the day is free.

Breakfast is included.

You then see Skógafoss - an impressive 60 m high waterfall located in Skógar, where you can visit the museum (entrance tickets are not included).

You then proceed to Vik the charming southernmost village in Iceland famous for breathtaking mountainous vistas, rich vegetation and birdlife. Make sure to take a picture of the three rockstacks called Skessudrangar, Landdrangar, and Langhamrar. Rising for up to 66 m from the sea, they are referred to in local folklore as trolls that turn to stone at sunrise.
