Day 2

Reykjavik City Tour & Northern Lights Seeking

In the morning, meet your guide-driver and set out on a scenic tour of Reykjavik and the surrounding area, combining the city’s historic landmarks, modern architecture, coastal scenery, and local culture. Explore the Old Harbour and Old Town, with photo stops at the City Pond and Town Hall, Parliament Building, Hallgrímskirkja Church, and the striking Harpa Concert Hall. Along the way, discover Reykjavik’s architectural development over the past 50 years, drive along the seaside boardwalk, and see the new US Embassy and other notable city landmarks.

Continue beyond the city center to Bessastaðir, the official residence of the President of Iceland. Drive through Garðabær and continue to Hafnarfjörður, a coastal town associated with Icelandic folklore and the legendary Huldufólk, or “hidden people.” See the town’s distinctive elf-related landmarks and stone homes while your guide shares stories of local traditions.

The tour concludes with a stop at Perlan, Reykjavik’s iconic dome-shaped landmark. Entrance tickets and any waiting time at Perlan are not included in the tour price. At the end of the city tour, you can either remain at Perlan to continue exploring at your own leisure or return to your hotel with the guide-driver.

In the evening, together with your private driver-guide, you set off on a 3-hour Northern Lights mystery tour.

Today you have the chance to see the Northern Lights flashing across the sky in brilliant patterns and learn all about the Aurora Borealis.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have a free evening.

Day 3

Golden Circle Tour

After breakfast you join a group for a fascinating 8-hour tour around the Golden Circle.

The first highlight of your day trip is visiting the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site - Thingvellir National Park. The national pride of the country, the Thingvellir National Park has a very important historical significance - it is the place where the oldest existing parliament in the world (first assembled in 930 AD) is set. The “Althing” was held here for almost 9 centuries, until 1800. However, it is not only history that attracts thousands of visitors to this unique land.

Being part of a fissure zone running through Iceland, the Thingvellir area is a great lava arena in a rift valley formed between the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates and serves a visual representation of continental drift. The area also features the largest natural lake in Iceland - Thingvallavatn, surrounded by lava flows and lush vegetation. You then discover the picturesque Gullfoss - one of the most beautiful and popular waterfalls in Iceland.

Your next stop is the Geysir area scattered with hot springs, mud pools and geysers, including the famous geyser Strokkur - the world´s most active.  After the tour you return to your Reykjavik hotel.

Day 4

Blue Lagoon & Northern Lights Cruise

In the morning after breakfast you meet your driver and continue your Iceland adventure with a relaxing tour to the Blue Lagoon - one of the most visited attractions in Iceland.

You have some free time to soak up in the Northern sun while relaxing in warm geothermal seawater surrounded by a surreal lava field.

In the evening your private driver transfers you to the pier for a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Northern Lights Cruise on board a comfortable boat.

During the tour your expert guide tells you all about the Northern Lights, the folklore and superstition, and explains the underlying scientific facts that make this magical light show possible. The cruise takes 2-3 hours. Warm overalls are included. After the cruise you are transferred to your hotel. Overnight in your hotel in Reykjavik.

Please note: the Northern Lights Cruise is available from September to April.

Day 5

South Coast Tour

Following breakfast you join a group for a memorable 10-hour journey to the South Coast of Iceland.

The very impressive Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls are your first stop. Seljalandsfoss cascades down the mountainside of West Eyjafjoll and is narrow and very high. There is even a path at the bottom of the cliff providing a safe and easy opportunity to walk behind the waterfall.

You then see Skogafoss - an impressive 60 m high waterfall located in Skogar. You also get to see the Solheimajökull glacier and Reynisfjara shore and black sand beach.

You then proceed to Vik village the charming southernmost village in Iceland famous for breathtaking mountainous vistas, rich vegetation and bird life. Make sure to take a picture of the three rockstacks called Skessudrangar, Landdrangar and Langhamrar. Rising for up to 66 m from the sea, they are referred to in local folklore as trolls that turn to stone at sunrise.

After the tour you return to your Reykjavik hotel for overnight.
