Stroll through the picturesque streets and marvel at some of the city’s most iconic sites, including the Acropolis (viewed from outside), the Parthenon, Lycabettus Hill, the charming Old Town, and many other attractions.

Tour of the Acropolis – Walk Through Ancient Athens

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private guide and begin an unforgettable 4-hour walking tour through the heart of ancient Athens.

Stroll along Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, one of Athens’ most scenic avenues, offering breathtaking views of the southern slope of the Acropolis, where some of the city’s most iconic monuments stand. Enter the archaeological area on the southern slope to avoid the crowds, and to your right, admire the Theatre of Dionysus, the world’s oldest theatre.

Your journey continues to the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, an impressive Roman-era theatre still in use today. Before reaching the Acropolis summit, pass through the Beulé Gate, part of the Roman fortifications, and visit the Temple of Athena Nike — a small yet elegant Ionic temple built between 426–421 B.C. to commemorate the Greeks’ victory over the Persians.

Reach the Propylaea, a masterpiece of classical architecture, and explore the Temple of Erechtheion, constructed between 420–406 B.C. on the holiest site of the Acropolis, where Athena is said to have planted her sacred olive tree.

A short boat ride brings you to the birthplace of Apollo, where the island’s vast expanse of ancient ruins offers a glimpse into a once-thriving spiritual, economic, and commercial center.
