Day-by-Day

Day 1

Arrival in Venice

Welcome to Venice - one of the most charming cities of Italy. Upon arrival, you are met by your private driver at the airport, who transfers you to the hotel for the check-in.

The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip.

Day 2

Sightseeing in Venice

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your private guide in the lobby and enjoy a wonderful walking city tour of all the must-see places of Venice.

We’ve carefully chosen the stops on this tour to give you a real insight into the city. You see the Rialto Bridge (and Rialto fish market), walk past the quiet streets, peaceful canals and go beyond the areas that visitors usually see. This is where Venice is hiding its best architecture and secret stories – and that’s what we’re out to explore.

Among many sights you discover are the iconic St. Mark's Basilica, where you see the astonishing Pala D'Oro altar. You go up to Loggia dei Cavalli to enjoy the best panoramic views of St. Mark's Square.

After the tour return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure or may go on an optional gondola ride.

    Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience and see the best of Venice from water as you ride on a traditional gondola. In one hour enjoy the best views of the city and its hidden charms as you ride through Venetian canals.

Day 3

Free Day in Venice, Train to Florence

The first half of the day is free for you to enjoy and explore Venice on your own. Alternatively, you can take one of the short optional day trips to nearby places.

  • Optional tour: Murano & Burano Boat Tour, Venice
    Enjoy a tranquil trip through Venetian lagoon to the islands of Murano & Burano. Your first stop is Burano Island, see this charming and colorful fishing village with intricate streets and canals lined by pastel-colored houses is famous for its lace-making industry. Then make your way to Murano. Its main pride is the world known Murano Glass. Enjoy a visit to a glass-factory where you see a demonstration of glass-blowing and visit the factory's showroom full of beautiful glassware.

In the afternoon at 4 pm, your private driver picks you up from the hotel and transfers you to the railway station. Upon arrival to Florence in about 2 hours, you are taken to your downtown hotel for check-in. The rest of the evening is free.

Day 4

Florence Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel, meet with your private guide and go on a comprehensive walking tour of Florence's highlights.

Today's program includes visits to the Duomo with its famous Bell-tower and its Baptistery dedicated to St. John the Baptist. As you proceed to the main square of the city - Piazza della Repubblica - you pass by the touristic area of the Strozzi Palace a bustling shopping street, via Tornabuoni.

Then you enter in Oltrarno where you see numerous local craftsmen shops and beautiful Santo Spirito Church and Convent, built for the Agostinian monks. In this very part of the city, you can find the first official work of Michelangelo dating back to the age when he was 17 years old before ending the tour on the Ponte Vecchio.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and enjoy the evening at your own leisure.

Day 5

Optional Tuscany Wine Trail

Today is free for you to savor magnificent Florence on your own or join one of our carefully planned optional tours to ancient and scenic destinations, located about a one-hour drive away from Florence.

  • Optional tour: Tuscany Wine Trail, Florence
    Get an insight of Tuscany, Italy's famous region of great wines during the Tuscany Wine Trail tour. Explore the fascinating countryside of the Chianti Wine region and discover two of the best wineries in Tuscany, taste exceptional wines, learn about wine and olive oil production from a wine expert, enjoy a delicious typical Tuscan meal, and even visit an organic farm. This experience is perfect for wine admirers.

Day 6

EXTRA DAY: Free Day & Evening Wine Tasting

The first part of the day today is free for you to explore Florence on your own or join our carefully planned optional tour

  • Optional tour: Trip to Pisa and Lucca

In the evening meet your fellow travelers at the hotel for a wine tasting organized for your group. Enjoy a tasting of 3 different wines selected by the hotel sommelier and paired with special tapas prepared by the chef.

Day 7

Ancient Rome & Colosseum

After breakfast at the hotel, you check out and meet your driver in the hotel lobby for a transfer to the rail station to board a train to Rome. An hour and a half later you arrive in the Italian capital. Your driver meets you and takes you to your downtown hotel.

After check-in, meet your guide for a stroll through the very heart of Rome. Today in about 4 hours you see the most famous attractions and hidden treasures of the Eternal City. You explore the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers, as well as witness the masterpieces by Bernini, Borromini and many others.

The highlight of your day is a tour of the most well-recognized sight of Rome - the Colosseum.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8

Vatican Sightseeing

In the morning after breakfast, meet your guide and driver and head to a walled enclave and the world’s smallest independent state - Vatican*. When inside the Vatican, you visit private apartments of Julius II, Pinecone Courtyard, Gallery of the Maps, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of Candelabra.

Next, you proceed to the Sistine Chapel, where you have enough time to admire Michelangelo's famous frescoes and learn about the intense relationship between Pope Julius II and Michelangelo that drove the artist to create the greatest work of art the world has ever known.

Your tour continues in the vast open spaces of St. Peter’s Basilica where you see a stunning Pieta - a world-famous work of Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo, and Bernini's impressive Papal Canopy, a legacy left to the Basilica by the Barberini family.

The ending point of your tour is St. Peter’s Square, where you can admire Michelangelo's Dome and the gorgeous colonnades designed by Bernini.

After that, you are transferred back to the hotel and have the evening free to enjoy the beauty of Rome on your own.

  • Please note: the Vatican is a sacred religious site thus the dress code for visiting it is applied just as when you visit any church in Italy: no shorts – no uncovered knees and shoulders, no backpacks.

Day 9

Free Day in Rome

Today is reserved for you to explore and enjoy Rome on your own. After breakfast you can do some independent sightseeing, shop for souvenirs or have a good rest.

We suggest visiting the Opera Theater, the Modern Art Gallery - Galleria nazionale d'arte or the Galleria Borghese or joining our carefully planned optional tour.

  • Optional tours: Catacombs of Rome, Rome
    Discover a layer of Roman history with a private guide and driver during your 3-hour Catacombs of Rome tour. First join a group excursion, supervised by a specially trained guide, to explore one of the Eternal City’s underground catacombs and burial chambers, unfolding millennia of history among tombs and inventive handmade memorials hidden deep underneath the city (mind that the maximum waiting time for the group gathering is 20 minutes). Continue to the spooky Capuchin Crypt made up of 5 successive chambers decorated and constructed entirely of bones and remains of 4,000 Capuchin monks, before reaching your final tour destination - the San Clemente Basilica built in 1123.
     
  • Optional tour: Tivoli Tour: Hadrian’s Villa & Villa d’Este
    Set off on an incredible 6-hour tour from Rome to Tivoli with a private guide and driver. Today you get to see the gorgeous Roman Villa of Emperor Hadrian - one of the most magnificent villas of the ancient world built 19 centuries ago. Then enter the Villa d’Este, the beautiful villa of a cardinal of the Renaissance, built in the mid-XVI century and decorated with hundreds of unique fountains and breathtaking panoramic views. Entrances to Villa d’Este and Villa Adriana are included.

Day 10

Pompeii and Amalfi Coastal Exploration

Following breakfast, you check-out from the hotel in Rome and your driver takes you to the rail station to board the train to Naples.

Upon arrival, your private guide and driver take you on a full-day scenic sightseeing trip to Sorrento. On the way, you have a tour of the Pompeii and experience the breathtaking beauty of the Amalfi Coast and the surrounding area. You also discover the picturesque towns of Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi from a local perspective, and take in the local history and culture.

After the tour, you are transferred to the hotel in the Amalfi coast (or Sorrento).

Day 11

Free Day in Sorrento

Today following breakfast at your hotel you have a free day to continue enjoying fascinating Sorrento at your leisure. You can join one of our carefully planned optional tours.

  • Optional tour: Gastronomic Tour from Sorrento
    Mozzarella, Pizza, Ice cream, Baba and other local cakes…Wine & Limoncello! These are just some of the local delights that you will get to try on the Gastronomic tour of the area. Spend 8 hours learning about the local gastronomic traditions and history. A must for all food lovers!
     
  • Optional Tour: Trip to Capri Island
    Cruise along the Sorrento coast, before crossing to Capri to marvel at some of the most dramatic rock formations. Navigate your way to Faraglioni to see the unique caves and grottoes of the White, Blue, and Green Grotto, each illuminated in different colors by the reflection of the sunlight hitting the seawater.

Day 12

Departure from Naples

This is the last day of your trip. After breakfast, you check-out from the hotel and your private driver transfers you to the Naples Airport or train station. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future vacations!

What to Know

  • You can expect to find some shops and restaurants closed from 1-4 p.m. as it is "Riposo" time, Italy’s midday siesta. Most places will be also closed on Sundays
  • Most restaurants won’t open until 7 p.m. or later
  • Tipping in restaurants is included in the bill, the cover charge is called ”coperto”. A charge from $1 to $3 will be noted on the menu
  • Make sure you have coins, in Italy, you will be typically charged from 1 to 2 Euros to enter a public restroom
