From there, revel in the serene waterfront vistas at Mission Bay and the historically significant Bastion Point. Pause to admire the panoramic views from the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial, situated over the glistening Waitemata Harbour and North Shore. Explore Auckland's fashionable districts of Ponsonby and Parnell, renowned for their exclusive boutiques.
Conclude your tour with a spectacular ascent to the SkyDeck of Auckland's iconic Sky Tower, offering a 360-degree view that encapsulates the city's diverse landscape and waterfront. After the tour, your afternoon is free for optional activities.

Tongariro Alpine Crossing or Hike to Mordor 

Experience the landscape of Tongariro, peppered with different coloured and shaped craters that have been active at different periods, scoured volcanic rocks, mountain springs and brightly coloured emerald lakes on a 1-day trek. 

As you explore this rugged and otherworldly landscape, you might feel like you’re travelling alongside Frodo and Sam on their way to bring the ring to Mount Doom. Or, you might even feel like you have somehow been transported to another planet - one with craters, emerald lakes and strangely shaped mounds of volcanic rock.

Tongariro National Park is a vast protected wilderness, home to three towering snow-capped volcanoes - Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu. This park has the distinct status of being a “Dual World Heritage Site” - which means that it is recognized both for its geological wonders and its Maori cultural and spiritual significance.

Lord of the Rings Tour with Weta Workshop

You'll begin with a visit to Courtenay Place and the Embassy Movie Theatre, famed for hosting world premieres of iconic movies such as "The Hobbit". The journey continues to Mt Victoria, where you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the city and harbor. This spot also serves as a gateway to the 'Green Belt', a lush forest area where several scenes from the movies were filmed.

As the tour progresses, you'll head to 'Wellywood', the heart of Wellington's film studios and post-production facilities. A highlight of this segment is the Weta Workshop, known for its exceptional work in prop-making and special effects. Here, you will have the chance to explore the 'Windows into Workshop' exhibition, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of physical props and makeup used in famous films.

This guided tour provides a unique opportunity to see the locations where movie magic was made and gain insights into the filmmaking process.

Lord of the Rings Edoras Tour

Embark on a journey into Middle-earth with a full-day tour from Christchurch to a key Lord of the Rings filming location.

Departing from Christchurch, you will travel via four-wheel drive to the remote and stunning Mt Potts high country station. Here, the serene Mt Sunday was transformed into Edoras, the home of the Riders of Rohan in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

During your guided walk, you’ll learn how the set was constructed atop sheer cliffs, view exclusive photos from the film set's creation, and enjoy the breathtaking 360-degree views from the summit, just as Eowyn did in the movies. As you soak in the pristine beauty and breathe the crisp mountain air, you’ll understand why the actors and crew fell in love with this remarkable location.

The tour also includes views of the famed Misty Mountains and the area that served as the backdrop for the thrilling Battle of Helm’s Deep. Your local guide will provide informative and entertaining commentary throughout the journey.
