This morning, you board your hotel on wheels at the Rovos Station in the charming city of Pretoria and your adventure of a lifetime begins! Morning is saved for you to unpack your suitcases and get to know your fellow travelers from all around the world. There is nothing special planned for the day, you are free to relax, take advantage of the luxurious amenities onboard, enjoy tea, served in the observation car, and admire the spectacular views as the train crosses the Drakensberg Mountain escarpment.

Dinner is served in the dining cars en route to Malelane.

Today is dedicated to the exploration of the Kruger National Park, one of the largest game reserves in Africa known and loved all around the globe. 

Upon arrival at the park, you enjoy a traditional safari experience in a company of professional rangers. With binoculars in hand, you search for the African Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalos) while the guided game drive whisks you away over the rolling hills and untamed bush of the vast territory of the Kruger National Park.  

Due to the seemingly endless stretches of unspoiled wilderness and unique atmosphere, the park is considered to be one of the top game viewing destinations in the world and a wildlife sanctuary like no other. 

Once you get back to the train and depart for your next destination, you have a whole evening to discuss the amazing day you've had with your co-travelers.

Today you have a chance to explore the oldest game reserve in Africa - Hluhluwe Game Reserve, located in the heart of Zululand. In the afternoon, you arrive at the amazing park and set off to see the best it has to offer. Rich wildlife, incredible nature, and Stone Age settlements are a sure recipe for a fantastic day.

After lunch onboard the train, you are taken for an outstanding experience among the rolling hills and diverse fauna and flora of this famous park. 

After the tour, you return to the train to enjoy your dinner and discuss the outstanding experience among the rolling hills and diverse fauna and flora you've had today, while the Rovos train takes you to Durban.

Today is dedicated to the charming coastal city of Durban. Named after Sir Benjamin D'Urban, the amazing city is the business center of the residential region. Durban offers numerous exciting opportunities to spend the day, such as stopping by the world-famous harbor, wharf, and port, checking out the city's cafe, offering a wide choice of local delicacies, and visiting the breathtaking Durban Botanical Gardens, boasting an unparalleled collection of beautiful sub-tropical trees, palms, and orchids.

After an exciting day tour, you go return to the train. But don't think that there will be no more wonders today. As the train takes you away from Durban, you and your fellow travelers enjoy a memorable dinner in the African style.

Spionkop Battlefield Tale

After a delicious breakfast onboard, the train arrives at the Ladysmith station, located in the heart of the eponymous city. You and your fellow travelers get off the train and enjoy a picturesque game drive to Spionkop Lodge, located in the place that witnessed one of the biggest wars in the history of South Africa.

Upon arrival, a professional local guide takes you around this historical area where some of the most dramatic battles during the South African War of 1899-1902 took place. Your local host accompanies you to many historic sights and helps to revive the memories of the past.

After lunch, you participate in another game drive on the way back to the train.

Addo Elephant Park Exploration

Early in the morning, the train arrives at the Coerney station and your set off to the Addo Elephant Park, nestled between the sinuous Sundays River and the glittering Indian Ocean. The amazing park is home to more than 350 African elephants, 280 Cape buffalo, and a whole range of Antelope species. This third-largest conservation area in the country boasts a rich history and the breathtaking nature of the park creates a perfect setting for your African adventure.

During the game drive, you explore the history and archeology of the famous nature reserve that envelopes all visitors within its enchantment.  

After a busy tour, you return to the train at the station and continue your exploration of Africa onboard the amazing Rovos Train.

If you think that you've seen everything, this day is going to surprise you! Today you continue the exploration of the diverse wildlife of the region as you are invited to visit the famous Ostrich Farm. At the farm, you are welcome to interact with the species whose ancestors have been around since the age of dinosaurs! During the tour, you learn about this charming creature, see what a working farm is really like, and take as many pictures of the biggest bird in the world as you wish. 

Upon return to the train, you enjoy a delicious lunch, as the train departs to the city of George, your next destination for today. 

In George, you take a tour of the local Railway Museum where you can see a variety of 13 steam locomotives, including a narrow gauge, the Emil Kessler- Johannesburg’s first steam locomotive, the majestic GL Garrett, featuring the impressive bygone era carriages, such as a coach from the 1947 Royal Train, Paul Kruger’s coach, and even the private saloons!

After the exciting tour, you go back to the train and continue your great Africa adventure.

Today after breakfast, you are taken to the charming coastal town of Knysna, a part of the 300 km stretch, poetically known as the "Garden Route". There we prepared a special surprise for you, a memorable ferry ride across the spectacular lagoon! Enjoy a cruise along the coastline and keep your eyes open to experience the full wonder of this beautiful unspoiled environment.

After the amazing cruise, the travelers have a chance to stop by the local mall and buy some local souvenirs or you are welcome to set off on a guided walk around Leisure Island with your group. Regardless of your choice, in the evening you get back to the train and enjoy a delicious dinner onboard.

Once the train disembarks the station in George, it starts its ride along one of the famous rail routes on the planet, the scenic "Garden Route".
