Unquestionably, taking a plane is the most time-saving way to travel between Alesund and Tromso. One of our experienced drivers takes you to the airport and meets you upon the flight's arrival.
Being the most dynamic hub at the Arctic Circle, Tromso Norway is a great place for exploring the northernmost part of Scandinavia. The 9th most populous city in Norway, Tromso has a lot in store to offer.
In the morning following breakfast, you check out from the Alesund hotel, meet your driver and head for the airport. There you take a 4-hour connecting flight to Tromso with a layover in Olso. Upon arrival to Tromso that's often referred to as the Gateway to the Arctic, you are transferred to the hotel for check-in.
Later you meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Together you go on an exciting 2.5-hour comprehensive city tour during which you see all the main attractions of Tromso. This unique Norwegian city is a major cultural hub above the Arctic Circle and is renown worldwide for being a viewing point for colorful Northern Lights that sometimes light up the nighttime sky. The city's historic center, set on the island of Tromso, is distinguished by its centuries-old wooden houses. You visit the 1965 Arctic Cathedral which is the symbol of Tromso with its eccentric peaked roof and soaring stained-glass windows.
As a special treat, you head for Tromso's popular cable car which brings you to the highest nearby mountain. The views are truly breathtaking from this altitude, especially when coupled with the mind-blogging midnight sun. From here, you ride a cable car 584 m (1,916 ft) up to the top, opening a spectacular view of the area. There is also a cafу at the mountaintop, where you can enjoy a snack while admiring the panorama of the city, the surrounding waterways, and mountains. After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

A comfortable flight is among the most convenient ways to travel between Tromso and Svalbard. Our local drivers will take you to the airport and meet you when you land.
Being the northernmost inhabited place in the world, Svalbard Norway is a striking archipelago in the Arctic Ocean that fascinates travelers from all corners of the world.
Following breakfast you are taken to the airport to board a direct flight to Svalbard (flight tickets are included). Upon arrival your private driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.
Svalbard is considered to be the northernmost inhabited place in the world. Today you have an evening at leisure.
Breakfast is included.
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you have a fascinating group tour of the Adventdalen valley. Summer in the Arctic is short and hectic with rich animal and bird life, and it is a common thing to see reindeer and foxes as in the summer months from May to the end of August the region has daylight all around the clock.
During the tour you drive Can-Am Outlander ATV to see the beautiful summery Svalbard landscape from the best angles. On your way you make stops in several points like in the old airport Longyearbyen, at one of the mines located in that region and up on one of the local mountain tops to catch the view over the valley and the fjord.
On the way down you visit Basecamp trapper's station in Bolterdalen where coffee and cookies are served for you. You also might get to meet the Alaskan Huskies before returning to town.
After the tour you are transfered to your hotel.
- Please note: we recommend you wear windproof and warm clothing for this tour.
- Please note: in order to drive a car or motorcycle please make sure to have your driver licence with you.
Breakfast and snacks are included.
Following breakfast at your hotel your driver transfers you to the pier for another great group journey. This time your means of transport is boat and your destination is located on the north, north and even further north. Here you find the ghost town called Pyramiden. This former coalmine that belonged to the USSR is mostly abandoned and sometimes even has polar bears walking it's streets today.
Complete with the world’s northernmost statue of Lenin, this powerful, brutally isolated town is surrounded by empty buildings and an obvious lack of life. Rumors of Pyramiden’s significance during the cold war abound, but one thing is certain: this was an Arctic outpost, and an Arctic paradise for those who lived and worked here.
While the sun shines over the stern, you sail north through the Isfjord and glide slowly past the bird cliff at Hatten. They aren’t big, but the Brunnich’s guillemot swarm in and out in big flocks. Like all bird cliffs in Svalbard, the cliff shines in bright shades of green, yellow and orange. You then cross Sassenfjord and see the mighty mountain Tempelet guarding the entrance to Tempelfjord. This mountain landmark towers over the fjord like a Sphinx.
After the day-trip, you are taken back to your hotel.
- Please note: we recommend you wear windproof and warm clothing, cap and mittens for this tour.
Breakfast and lunch are included.
