Day-by-Day

Day 1

Bonjour! Arrival to Paris

As they say, Paris is always a good idea! Bonjour and welcome to the most romantic city in the world and the charming capital of France - Paris! Upon arrival, your driver meets you at the arrivals hall of the airport holding a sign with your name on it and takes you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent city center on your own, dine in one of the local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Day 2

Exploring Crème de la Crème of Louvre & the Latin Quarter

After breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a 6-hour walking tour of the three famous districts of Paris: Marais (4th), Latin Quarter (5th) and Saint Germain (6th).

Your tour of the fabulous capital of France begins on the Cite Island where you see the world’s most famous gothic cathedral - Notre Dame. You stroll the glorious Luxembourg Gardens where famous French philosophers looked for inspiration and see the Pantheon from the outside. Among other sights, you see today are the Hôtel de Ville (city hall), Fountain Of The Innocents and the Cour Carrée that is one of the main courtyards of the Louvre Palace.

You then proceed with the tour the Louvre Museum, one of the world’s largest museums, taking advantage of your skip-the-line tickets. You see the crème de la crème collections and the most celebrated works of art, ancient artifacts, Greek sculptures, including the famous Venus di Milo, masterpieces of Raphael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt, and the world’s most enigmatic portrait - Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 3

Tour of the Champs-Elysées and Eiffel Tower Districts

Following breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a 6-hour walking tour of the Champs-Elysees (8th) and Eiffel Tower (7th) districts.

Today you proceed to the outstanding Tuileries Gardens - the oldest park in the city, explore the beautiful squares Place Vendome and Place de la Concorde, see the famous bridge Pont Alexandre III and the Grand Palais and Petit Palais. After admiring the iconic French symbol - the Triumphal Arc you head to the Place de Trocadero which is the vantage point of the Eiffel Tower*.Trocadero which is the vantage point of the Eiffel Tower*.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

  • Note: Tickets to the Eiffel Tower are not included in the city tour due to limited availability. Please, ask your travel specialist about available tickets for your tour date if you would like to include it.

Day 4

Tour of Versailles Magnifique & Train to Bordeaux

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Versailles - the famous residence of French kings.

Together with your experienced guide and private driver you set off on a 6-hour tour and make use of the privilege to a skip-the-line entrance to the Palace. You see the castle of Versailles and admire its grandiose opulence from the inside. You get to walk through its well-known Hall of Mirrors where the Treaty of Versailles was signed and see the actual rooms of the most extravagant king of France, Louis the XIV.

You also discover the world famous Le Notre gardens, see the Grand Trianon, Hameau de la Reine and take a stroll around the endless lavish gardens of Versailles.

After the tour, you are taken to the train station for your train to Bordeaux (1st class tickets included). Upon arrival, in 2 hours you are met by your private driver at the train station and transferred to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 5

Bordeaux City Tour & Cite du Vin Visit

In the morning after breakfast, you meet your guide and go on a 5-hour guided walking tour of Bordeaux and Cite du Vin museum.

Together with your driver guide, you see the top sights of the city of Bordeaux. You see the Place de la Bourse which was built by King Louis XV in the early 1700's as the Royal Plaza, the Water Mirror, Opera, Place de la Comedie, Porte Caillau, riverfront, Quinconces square and its majestic fountain, and Cathedrale Saint Andre.

You then proceed to Cite du Vin - a new generation wine museum where a wine comes to life through an immersive, sensorial approach.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 6

Tour to Saint-Emilion

Today after breakfast prepare for a day-trip to one of the most famous red wine districts in the world. Together with your driver-guide, you set off to Saint-Emilion.

You travel to the vineyards of Saint-Emilion wine region and get to visit the famous wineries of Saint-Emilion and taste its wines. Then you discover the charming UNESCO-listed village of Saint-Emilion, its fascinating Romanesque churches, and ruins stretching along the steep and narrow streets of this medieval village. 

After the tour, you return to your hotel in Bordeaux and have the rest of the day free.

Day 7

Medoc Wine Tour

Today after breakfast prepare for a day-trip to one of the most famous red wine districts in the world. Together with your driver-guide, you set off to Medoc.

Upon arrival, you visit a top winery in the Margaux appellation where you get to learn about the wine-making process and taste wines. Then continue to two renown wineries in Pauillac, where you have wine-tastings as well.

On the way back you ride along the Route des Chateaux, the legendary castle road, and see beautiful wineries. You are taken to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 8

Departure

This is the last day of your tour of Bordeaux. Your driver meets you at your accommodation and takes you to Bordeaux train station for your direct 3.5-hour train to the Charles de Gaulle Airport for your flight back home (1st class train tickets included).

  • You can expect to find some shops, restaurants, and museums closed for lunch between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • French breakfast is not as heavy as other European breakfast meals, it usually includes sweet pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal
  • Tipping in restaurants might be included in the bill, "service compris" (tip included) or "service non-compris" (tip not included), but in any case, if you liked the service you can leave few Euros on the table either way
  • Most communication equipment takes 220/110 volts, you will need an adapter plug (type E) to make your plug fit into the socket

Superb tour to Italy! You really deserve a round of applause

London, Brussels, Amsterdam Tour (May 2017)

Overall, very good. The group did not like starting off on a crowded 20-stop subway journey instead of the Heathrow Express. Guides were great. Brussels was 50/50 with the group. If we had more interior visits, it would have been better. We will eliminate the Hague next time, and spend more time in Rotterdam. ...
