Day-by-Day

Day 1

Bonjour! Arrival to Paris

As they say, Paris is always a good idea! Bonjour and welcome to the most romantic city in the world and the charming capital of France -​ Paris! Upon arrival, your driver meets you at the arrivals hall of the airport holding a sign with your name on it and takes you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent city center on your own, dine in one of the local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

 

Day 2

Exploring Crème de la Crème of Louvre & the Latin Quarter

After breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a 6-hour walking tour of the three famous districts of Paris: Marais (4th), Latin Quarter (5th) and Saint Germain (6th).

Your tour of the fabulous capital of France begins on the Cite Island where you see the world’s most famous gothic cathedral - Notre Dame. You stroll the glorious Luxembourg Gardens where famous French philosophers looked for inspiration and see the Pantheon from the outside. Among other sights, you see today are the Hôtel de Ville (city hall), Fountain Of The Innocents and the Cour Carrée that is one of the main courtyards of the Louvre Palace.

You then proceed with the tour the Louvre Museum, one of the world’s largest museums, taking advantage of your skip-the-line tickets. You see the crème de la crème collections and the most celebrated works of art, ancient artifacts, Greek sculptures, including the famous Venus di Milo, masterpieces of Raphael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt, and the world’s most enigmatic portrait - Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 3

Tour of the Champs-Elysées and Eiffel Tower Districts

Following breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a 6-hour walking tour of the Champs-Elysees (8th) and Eiffel Tower (7th) districts.

Today you proceed to the outstanding Tuileries Gardens - the oldest park in the city, explore the beautiful squares Place Vendome and Place de la Concorde, see the famous bridge Pont Alexandre III and the Grand Palais and Petit Palais. After admiring the iconic French symbol - the Triumphal Arc you head to the Place de Trocadero which is the vantage point of the Eiffel Tower*.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

  • Note: Tickets to the Eiffel Tower are not included in the city tour due to limited availability. Please, ask your travel specialist about available tickets for your tour date if you would like to include it.

Day 4

Tour of Versailles Magnifique

Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Versailles - the famous residence of French kings.

Together with your experienced guide and private driver you set off on a 6-hour tour and make use of the privilege to a skip-the-line entrance to the Palace. You see the castle of Versailles and admire its grandiose opulence from the inside. You get to walk through its well-known Hall of Mirrors where the Treaty of Versailles was signed and see the actual rooms of the most extravagant king of France, Louis the XIV.

You also discover the world famous Le Notre gardens, see the Grand Trianon, Hameau de la Reine and take a stroll around the endless lavish gardens of Versailles.

After the tour, you are taken back to your hotel and have the day free.

Day 5

Free Day in Paris

Today you have the day free to continue enjoying Paris on your own or join one of our carefully planned optional tours.

  • Optional tour: Day Trip to Giverny and Rouen
    Go on an exciting day trip to Giverny and Rouen. Together with your guide you first go to Giverny where you get to visit the unique house and museum of Monet and walk the gardens of Monet, still kept exactly as he left them. Then continue to Rouen, the capital city of the Normandy region. Go through the cobbled streets of the beautiful and perfectly preserved medieval city of Rouen and marvel at the superb example of the flamboyant Gothic style, gloriously embodied in Notre Dame de Rouen.
     
  • Optional tour: Marais Quarter and Montmartre Tour
    Together with a private guide go on a 5-hour walking tour of the Marais Quarter and Montmartre. In the Marais Quarter visit sites such as Les Halles, Place des Vosges, and the Pletzel area. Then continue to Montmartre, walk along the charming Rue Lepic, go to the Place du Tertre where you can see Parisian vineyards, authentic mills, and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart that offers breathtaking views of the city.

Day 6

Train to Nice

In the morning after breakfast, you check out from the hotel and are transferred to the train station where you board a train to the outstanding French city Nice (1st class train tickets included). Upon arrival in about six hours, your driver takes you to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 7

Nice City Tour

Following breakfast meet your guide and go on a 3-hour walking city tour around the most stunning Nice attractions from the oldest times with the Greek and Roman ruins, to the more recent era of Belle Epoque with the palaces of the last century.

During the tour you stroll through the cobblestone narrow streets of the picturesque Old Town abundant in souvenir stalls, cafes and shops, see the Castle Hill, with the ruins of the former Chateau de Nice and walk along the Promenade des Anglais that stretches through the entire city coastline with the Baie des Anges and the beaches on one side, and beautiful buildings, including the breathtaking hotel Negresco, on the other.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8

Day Trip to Cannes

Prepare for an exciting day as you are going on a day trip to Cannes - another famous town in Southern France and jewel of the French Riviera. Following breakfast, you go to the train station, easily accessible on foot, and board a train that takes you to Cannes in only 30 minutes. Upon arrival, you are met by your guide at the station. Together you go on a 3-hour walking tour of the best city sights.

During the tour, you see the old town of Cannes called le Suquet, and the waterfront Boulevard de la Croisette, where the Cannes Film Festival is held every year, and the Palais des Festivals et des Congres from outside.

After the tour, you return to the train station and take a train back to Nice. Upon arrival, you walk to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 9

Tour to Monaco, Monte Carlo and Eze

After breakfast, you meet your private driver-guide and go on a half-day tour to the tiny royal principality Monaco surrounded by France and the Mediterranean Sea.

During the tour, you see major city attractions including the Cathedral of Monaco, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, and the official royal residence - the Prince's Palace from the outside, that is located on the hilltop overlooking the sea of the Old Town Monaco-Ville area. Here you enter the State Apartments Museum, where you get to see its eccentric rooms such as the Mirror Room, the Throne Room, the Red Room, the York Room, the Blue Room, the Louis XV bedroom called the Yellow Room and the Officers Room.

Then you continue to the Monte-Carlo district. As a tour highlight, you enter one of the oldest and most fashionable casinos in Europe, Monte-Carlo Casino and see the splendid Opera House, created by Charles Garnier - the same architect who built the famous Paris Opera House.

After you take a trip to the picture-postcard Eze village which is often called "eagle nest". It is famous for its charming medieval atmosphere, authentic look, and mind-boggling sea views. Here you walk its petite streets, pass the exotic cactus garden and see the 14th-century castle ruins.

After the tour, you are taken back to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10

Free Day in Nice

Today you have the day free to continue enjoying Nice on your own or join one of our carefully planned optional tours.

Day 11

Departure

This is the last day of your tour of France. Your driver meets you at your accommodation and takes you to the airport for your flight back home.

What to Know

  • You can expect to find some shops, restaurants, and museums closed for lunch between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • French breakfast is not as heavy as other European breakfast meals, it usually includes sweet pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal
  • Tipping in restaurants might be included in the bill, "service compris" (tip included) or "service non-compris" (tip not included), but in any case, if you liked the service you can leave few Euros on the table either way
  • Most communication equipment takes 220/110 volts, you will need an adapter plug (type E) to make your plug fit into the socket

Superb tour to Italy! You really deserve a round of applause

London, Brussels, Amsterdam Tour (May 2017)

Overall, very good. The group did not like starting off on a crowded 20-stop subway journey instead of the Heathrow Express. Guides were great. Brussels was 50/50 with the group. If we had more interior visits, it would have been better. We will eliminate the Hague next time, and spend more time in Rotterdam. ...
