Day-by-Day

Day 1

Bonjour! Arrival to Paris

As they say, Paris is always a good idea! Bonjour and welcome to the most romantic city in the world and the charming capital of France - Paris! Upon arrival, your driver meets you at the arrivals hall of the airport holding a sign with your name on it and takes you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent city center on your own, dine in one of the local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Day 2

Exploring Crème de la Crème of Louvre & the Latin Quarter

After breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a 6-hour walking tour of the three famous districts of Paris: Marais (4th), Latin Quarter (5th) and Saint Germain (6th).

Your tour of the fabulous capital of France begins on the Cite Island where you see the world’s most famous gothic cathedral - Notre Dame. You stroll the glorious Luxembourg Gardens where famous French philosophers looked for inspiration and see the Pantheon from the outside. Among other sights, you see today are the Hôtel de Ville (city hall), Fountain Of The Innocents and the Cour Carrée that is one of the main courtyards of the Louvre Palace.

You then proceed with the tour the Louvre Museum, one of the world’s largest museums, taking advantage of your skip-the-line tickets. You see the crème de la crème collections and the most celebrated works of art, ancient artifacts, Greek sculptures, including the famous Venus di Milo, masterpieces of Raphael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt, and the world’s most enigmatic portrait - Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 3

Tour of the Champs-Elysées and Eiffel Tower Districts

Following breakfast, your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you on a 6-hour walking tour of the Champs-Elysees (8th) and Eiffel Tower (7th) districts.

Today you proceed to the outstanding Tuileries Gardens - the oldest park in the city, explore the beautiful squares Place Vendome and Place de la Concorde, see the famous bridge Pont Alexandre III and the Grand Palais and Petit Palais. After admiring the iconic French symbol - the Triumphal Arc you head to the Place de Trocadero which is the vantage point of the Eiffel Tower*.Trocadero which is the vantage point of the Eiffel Tower*.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

  • Note: Tickets to the Eiffel Tower are not included in the city tour due to limited availability. Please, ask your travel specialist about available tickets for your tour date if you would like to include it.

Day 4

Tour of Versailles Magnifique

Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a guided tour of the magnificent Versailles - the famous residence of French kings.

Together with your experienced guide and private driver you set off on a 6-hour tour and make use of the privilege to a skip-the-line entrance to the Palace. You see the castle of Versailles and admire its grandiose opulence from the inside. You get to walk through its well-known Hall of Mirrors where the Treaty of Versailles was signed and see the actual rooms of the most extravagant king of France, Louis the XIV.

You also discover the world famous Le Notre gardens, see the Grand Trianon, Hameau de la Reine and take a stroll around the endless lavish gardens of Versailles.

After the tour, you are taken back to your hotel and have the day free.

Day 5

Free Day in Paris or Optional Day Trip to Champagne

Today you have the day free to continue enjoying Paris on your own or join our carefully planned optional day trip to Champagne.

  • Optional tour: Champagne Day Trip
    Enjoy a tour to Reims, a city that is bubbling over with heritage sites and fine champagne. Go on a tour to a famous Champagne house to have an excellent overview of the process of making world-class champagne along with the history of champagne and have a Champagne tasting.

Day 6

Train to Amboise & Loire Valley Touring

In the morning after breakfast, you check out from the hotel and are transferred to the train station where you board a train to the Loire Valley town of Amboise (1st class train tickets included). Upon arrival in about two hours, your driver-guide meets you at the train station and together you begin your exploration of the Loire Valley.

The Loire Valley is a region well endowed with natural and built heritage, boasting a large number of Chateaux castles and vineyards, recognized by UNESCO. The first place you visit today is the Chateau de Villandry. During your guided tour you learn about the chateau and stroll the gardens of Villandry, making use of your included skip-the-line entrances.

You then continue to a local winery where you have a tour and wine tasting of Chinon wine. The Chinon wine region around the historic town of Chinon is noted for its exceptional red wines and rosés.

  • Optional tour: Hot Air Balloon Flight Over the River LoireTreat yourself to views of French landscapes you will remember for years to come! Air Ballooning is now a well-established tradition in the Loire Valley, as the view of the chateaux from the sky is truly unbelievable. Appreciate the silence while flying over some magnificent landscapes rich with lush forests, vineyards and the last wild river in Europe, the Loire.

After the tour, you are taken to your Amboise hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 7

Tours of Chenonceau & Chambord and Wine Tasting

Following breakfast meet your guide-driver and go on a day trip to continue exploring the Loire Valley gems.

Your first stop today is the brilliant Chateau de Chenonceau, which you get to explore taking advantage of your skip-the-line entrance. You have a guided tour of Chateau de Chenonceau, often described as ‘the ladies chateau’. It sits in a beautiful setting literally on the Cher River, surrounded by gardens on the adjacent terraces and river banks.

Then continue to troglodyte cellar caves located along the Loire River's central area. You are treated to lunch in one of the caves with a wine tasting.

Another place you visit today is the outstanding Chateau de Chambord, one of the most recognizable chateaux in the world due to its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture. Together with your guide you explore the castle and enjoy your skip-the-line entrance.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8

Train to Bordeaux

After breakfast, you check out from the hotel. Your private driver transfers you to the train station where you board your train to Bordeaux - one of France's most exciting, vibrant and dynamic cities, famous for its wines (1st class train tickets included). Upon arrival in about 2 hours, you are met by your driver at the station and taken to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you to explore this beautiful city by yourself, we recommend to visit the Bordeaux Wine Museum or join our carefully planned optional tour.

  • Optional tour: Cognac Day Trip
    Treat yourself to a Cognac tour, which is a must-do for all brandy lovers. Set off to the French Cognac region where you get to tour a famous Cognac distillery followed by Cognac tasting.

Day 9

Bordeaux City Tour & Tour to Saint-Emilion

In the morning after breakfast, you go on a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion.

Together with your driver guide, you see the top sights of the city of Bordeaux. You see the Place de la Bourse which was built by King Louis XV in the early 1700's as the Royal Plaza, the Water Mirror, Opera, Place de la Comedie, Porte Caillau, riverfront, Quinconces square and its majestic fountain, and Cathedrale Saint Andre.

As a highlight of the day, you travel to the vineyards of Saint-Emilion wine region. You get to visit a top winery in Saint-Emilion and taste the wines of the estate. Then you discover the charming UNESCO-listed village of Saint-Emilion and drive through famous wineries of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol.

After the tour, you return to your hotel in Bordeaux and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10

Medoc Wine Tour

Today after breakfast prepare for a day-trip to one of the most famous red wine districts in the world. Together with your driver-guide, you set off to Medoc.

Upon arrival, you visit a top winery in the Margaux appellation where you get to learn about the winemaking process and taste wines. Then continue to two renown wineries in Pauillac, where you have wine-tastings as well.

On the way back you ride along the Route des Chateaux, the legendary castle road, and see beautiful wineries. You are taken to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 11

Departure from Paris

This is the last day of your tour of France. Your driver meets you at your accommodation and takes you to Bordeaux train station for your direct 3.5-hour train to the Charles de Gaulle Airport for your flight back home (1st class train tickets included).

  • You can expect to find some shops, restaurants, and museums closed for lunch between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
  • French breakfast is not as heavy as other European breakfast meals, it usually includes sweet pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal

Overall, very good. The group did not like starting off on a crowded 20-stop subway journey instead of the Heathrow Express. Guides were great. Brussels was 50/50 with the group. If we had more interior visits, it would have been better. We will eliminate the Hague next time, and spend more time in Rotterdam. ...
