The mine was opened in the 13th century and produced table salt until 2007, thus it is one of the world's oldest-operating salt mines. The mine contains hundreds of kilometers of galleries with works of art, underground chapels and salt statues which makes it a fascinating pilgrimage into the past.
The route for visitors covers a 3.5 km (2.2 ft) section located at a depth of 64 m to 135 m (210 ft to 443 ft). Upon arrival to the mine you have a group guided tour, the average duration is 3 hours.
