Today following breakfast your guide takes you for a 3-hours panoramic walking tour around the charming Krakow. Having escaped destruction during World War II, the city retains its charming medieval shape.
Krakow life revolves around the largest square in Europe known as the Market square, where several of its architectural and cultural landmarks can be found. In the middle of the square, there is the magnificent 14th-century Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), which today hosts a market selling local artifacts and souvenirs on the ground floor. Opposite the Cloth Hall is the St. Mary's Cathedral, world famous for its altar carved by Wit Stwosz. You enter the cathedral to explore its interiors.
Then you walk along Kanonicza and Grodzka Streets, see the Collegium Maius, Jewish District of Kazimierz and magnificent Wawel Hill with a splendid 14th-century cathedral.
After the tour the rest of the day is free.
Breakfast is included.
Following breakfast, your private English-speaking driver meets you in the hotel lobby and takes you to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, located about a 40-minute drive away.
- Note: alternatively you may have a day tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp. Please, inform your travel specialist, which option do you prefer.
The Wieliczka Salt Mine is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Poland and a UNESCO-listed Heritage Site. The mine was opened in the 13th century and produced table salt until 2007, thus it is one of the world's oldest operating salt mines. The mine contains hundreds of kilometers of galleries with works of art, underground chapels and salt statues, which makes it a fascinating pilgrimage into the past.
The route for visitors covers a 3.5 km section located at a depth of 64 m to 135 m. Upon arrival to the mine, you have a group guided tour, the average duration of which is 3 hours.
On the way back you can stop at the restaurant and have some time for lunch. After the tour, you return to your Krakow hotel. The rest of the day is free.
