Day-by-Day

Day 1
Arrival in Prague

Welcome to the fairy-tale capital of the Czech Republic - Prague! Upon arrival, you are met by your private driver at the airport and transferred to your neat Prague hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

No meals included.

Day 2
Prague City Tour & Beer Tasting

Following breakfast, you embark on a 5-hour voyage of discovery into the Old Town with your private guide who shows you the most magnificent city sights.

You walk the famous Royal Route, originally used for the king's coronation procession, and see the Municipal House, the Gothic Tyn Cathedral, the Cubist House at the Black Madonna and the Old Town Hall tower with its legendary Astronomical clock. Then you explore Parizska street modelled after a Parisian boulevard, the Josefov area - the former Jewish ghetto, the Rudolfinum concert hall and the famous Charles Bridge with the splendid Prague Castle (no entrance included). Fee for public transport to travel between the sites with your guide is included.

Then you are invited for a unique experience - a guided beer tour. You visit a typical local beer tavern in the city center to learn about the history of Czech beer and to understand how this drink has become a part of the national heritage.

After the tour, you return to your hotel. You have the evening free to enjoy Prague.

Day 3
Kutna Hora Tour

In the morning following breakfast, meet your guide and driver at the hotel lobby, and embark on a 6-hour tour to magnificent Kutna Hora.

Following a 1.5 hour ride through the beautiful Bohemian countryside, you reach the stunning town of Kutna Hora. This UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site gained excessive wealth thanks to its prosperous silver mines and became the second most important town in the Kingdom of Bohemia, after Prague.

During the tour, you see all of the key medieval and Baroque monuments, including the former central royal mint, the interior of St. Barbara’s Cathedral, as well as the nearby All Saints Ossuary (Bone Church) which is famous for its elaborate decorations made of human bones.

After the tour, you return to Prague and have the rest of the day free.

Day 4
Transfer to Passau and Embarkation

Following breakfast, you check-out from the hotel and have a private transfer to Passau to embark the ship.

On the way to the ship, you may join our private optional tour to  Český Krumlov.

In the evening you have a welcome reception and a welcome dinner. After dinner, your ship departs from Passau.

Day 5
Exploring Regensburg & Weltenburg Abbey

Following breakfast together with your guide, you go on a 2-hour group tour of Regensburg, one of Germany's oldest towns, founded by the Romans in 179 AD.

Today you see one of Europe’s oldest bridges that has spanned the Danube since the 12th century and visit the Regensburg Cathedral.

Next on your agenda is a 5-hour group trip to the Weltenburg Abbey. You take a coach ride to this hidden Bavarian gem, and along the way make a stop in Michelsberg to see the Hall of Liberation. As a highlight of the day you take an excursion boat to the scenic nature reserve. Upon arrival, you go to the Weltenburg Abbey, which is the oldest monastery in Bavaria. Here you have a tour of the abbey church followed by a tasting of the famous dark beer of Weltenburg, which is brewed here in the oldest monastery brewery in the world.

After the tour, you return to your ship and continue cruising.

Day 6
Touring Salzburg & Salzkammergut

After breakfast prepare for a full-day group tour to Salzburg, which you reach by bus.

During the tour, you discover the countless architectural and historical artistic highlights of the enchanting baroque city of Salzburg. You see the Getreidegasse and Mozart’s birthplace as well as the marvelous old part of the city. You also see the Mirabell Palace, the Garden of Dwarfs and the Garden of Roses, stroll along the narrow streets and enjoy the flair of this old city.

Following lunch, you continue to the picturesque village of Mondsee, best known as a film location for the famous movie "The Sound of Music", where you have the chance to take in the beautiful scenery.

After the tour, you return to the ship and continue cruising.

Day 7
Day Tour to Melk Abbey and Wine Tasting

Following breakfast, you arrive in Emmersdorf from where you start a group tour to Melk Abbey and Durstein city.

In the Abbey, your group guide takes you through the abbot’s chambers, along the imperator’s walk, through the marble hall, the balconies and the library. The abbey’s church and the impressive library with countless medieval manuscripts and frescos are particularly noteworthy.

Continue to Durstein and have time to walk around the charming and beautiful city center. Upon return to Emmersdorf, you enjoy a glass of a local wine.

Day 8
City tour of Vienna

Today your ship arrives in Vienna, the European capital of music!

Together with your guide, you get to explore the main sights of the city in 3.5 hours. Among the places you see today during the panoramic drive are the State Opera House, the Parliament building and the stunning city hall.

During the walking tour, you see the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the former winter residence of the Habsburgs, walk along the Kohl market and see the St. Stephen Cathedral. You also have some free time to enjoy the old town on your own.

After the tour, you are taken back to the ship to continue your cruise.

Day 9
Bratislava Guided Tour

Following breakfast, your ship arrives in the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. Today together with your group guide you set off on a 3-hour exploration of the must-visit sites of the city on a walking and bus tour and enjoy the historic center of Bratislava, rich in castles and baroque palaces.

You see the Gothic St. Martin's Cathedral built in the period from 13th to16th centuries, and the Grassalkovich Palace, which is now the Slovak president’s residence. Enjoy great views of the city from a top-hill observation point. During the tour, you also see the Primatial Palace, the 15th-century university Academia Istropolitana, the old City Hall, the Opera House and Maximilian Fountain.

After the tour, you return to your ship and in the evening enjoy the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 10
City Tour of Budapest

Today you get to discover the most beautiful places in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, divided into two parts, Buda and Pest, by the Danube River.

During the 3.5-hour group tour, you see main sights including the Great Market Hall, the imposing Neo-Renaissance Hungarian State Opera and the symbol of the city - the striking Parliament building. Then you make a photo stop on the Heroes' Square, cross one of the seven bridges into Buda and go up to Castle Hill, where you visit St. Matthew's Church and the famous Fisherman's Bastion.

After the tour, you are taken back to your vessel.

Day 11
Eger Sightseeing & Wine Tasting

Today you disembark early in the morning and meet your private guide and driver to start your full day tour. In about 1.5 hours, you arrive at magical Eger, a historical town in Eastern Hungary.

During the city tour, you visit the fortress of Eger - an important symbol of the heroism of Hungarian defenders who successfully beat back the overwhelming Ottoman army in the 16th century. After the tour of Eger you proceed to a nearby 'Valley of the Beautiful Women', which keeps more than 600 years old tradition of making the delicious red wines. You learn about the wine-making process and experience a 5-tier wine tasting in one of the 200 family run wine cellars located there.

After the tour, you return to check-in to the hotel in Budapest.

Day 12
Departure from Budapest

This is the final day of your tour. Today your driver takes you to the airport for your flight back home. We hope you enjoyed your European tour and the charming cities you have explored!

What to Know
  • It's always best to withdraw some cash in local currency before your departure. You will need Hungarian Forints for your time in Budapest, Czech Koruna for Prague and Euros for Vienna;
  • Tipping in all of the capitals is commonly expected. Visitors are often expected to tip at least 10% in Prague, 5-15% in Vienna and 10-15% in Budapest;
  • You will be walking quite a bit during your sightseeing tours, so make sure to bring comfortable shoes.
