Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Milan

Welcome to Milan, the fashion capital of Italy! Upon arrival to Milan you are met by your driver and taken to your downtown hotel.

There are no planned activities for you for that day, so you can relax and recover after the flight. If you would like to do some looking around, we suggest visiting the world famous shopping and fashion avenue, Quadrilatero della Moda.

No meals included.

Day 2: Trip to Lake Como

Today after breakfast prepare for an exciting full day tour to Como Lake. Located at the footsteps of the Alps, Lake Como is one of the most beautiful natural sights in the world.

Lake Como, is not only spectacular but rich in history and tradition. From Milan to the foothills of the Alps, Lake Como is the heart of Italian romance and history.

After the tour you return to your Milan hotel and have the remaining day at leisure.

Breakfast is included.

Day 3: Milan Sightseeing & Transfer to Genoa

Following breakfast you check out from the hotel. You meet your guide at the hotel lobby and have a walking tour of Milan to learn more about the city’s history and reputation as a fashion capital.

During the tour you make a stop at Castello Sforzesco to see history and style combined with Milanese flair. Explore the public areas, with stories of its 15th-century owners ringing in your ears, and then continue to nearby La Scala. Prepare to be wowed by the prestigious Milan opera house, with its ornate stage that glistens under crystal chandeliers. Gaze down at the orchestral pit from the public box, and take a quick look inside La Scala Museum with your guide.

Note: The unique treasure of Milan - Leonardo da Vinci’s legendary fresco “The Last Supper” located in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is not included in the city tour due to its limited availability. Please, ask your travel specialist about available tickets for your tour date.

In the afternoon your private driver for a transfer to the railway station. In about 2 hours you reach your next destination, Genoa Upon arrival you are taken to your hotel located for check-in. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax.

Day 4: Genoa City Tour

Following breakfast you meet your local guide in the lobby of the hotel and go on a sightseeing tour of the city.

During the tour you will visit all of the major sights including the Old Port, Piazza De Ferrari heart of the town, with the Carlo Felice Opera House and its beautiful fountains, the 12th century city gate and Christopher Columbus' House (outside), Strada Nuova (now Via Garibaldi), whose beautiful 16th century Palazzi dei Rolli were declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006 and we will also have a photo stop at la Spianata di Castelletto for an unforgattable view over the city.

Rest of the day is free to continue exploring the city independently.

Day 5: Portofino, The Italian Riviera & Ferry to Sardinia

Today you will continue exploring Italian riviera. Meet your guide and driver at the hotel, we'll drive along the coastal road for the 45'minute journey to Santa Margherita Ligure. The coastline is scattered with quaint and friendly seaside villages and offers breathtaking views.

Upon arrival, a panoramic tour highlights the places of interest, including the Parish Church of Santa Maria della Rosa and the 16th century castle (outside). Then we take a public boat to reach Portofino (15' minutes aprrox.) We start our walking tour from famous Piazzetta, meeting place of the international jet set, overlooked by the typical colourful houses and visit all of the must-see sights on the way.

After the tour you are transferred back to Genoa port to embark overnight ferry which will take you to Sardinia.

Breakfast and dinner are included.

Day 6: Arrival in Sardinia & Santa Teresa di Gallura

In the monring ferry reaches shore of Sardinia. Then you are picked up by the private driver for the first sightseeing of the island.

Today you visit Santa Teresa di Gallura place known for Capo Testa - secluded, scenic coastal area which offers rocky hiking trails & coves with small sandy beaches. One os those beaches, a must-see of the island - Cala Spinosa. It is a stunning tiny beach fully surrounded by granite rocks. 

After the tour you are transferred to Alghero for an overnight.

Day 7: Alghero City Tour & Neptune Caves

Today you meet your private guide at the lobby of the hotel and have a walking city your. 

Alghero has preserved many buildings, which bear witness to the Aragonese and Spanish domination, such as the surrounding walls, defensive towers, ancient buildings which are still in use today, and priceless religious monuments. Starting from "Piazza Sulis", which is the town centre, there is the massive shape of the tower of Esperò Reial, which is one of the towers that were part of the city walls.

Then we continue to Neptune caves -  the most popular caves of Sardinia find in Alghero and are dedicated to the sea God Neptune. They are both reachable via ferry boat and through a 600 steps staircase, offering stunning views over the sea and the coast. 

Narrow streets, cozy restaurants and breathtaking views of Alghero  - perfect plan for the evening.

Day 7: Exploring Vatican & the Sistine Chapel

In the morning after breakfast meet your guide and driver and head to a walled enclave and the world’s smallest independent state - Vatican*. When inside the Vatican, you visit the Apostolic Palace and private apartments of Julius II decorated by Raphael.

Next you proceed to the Sistine Chapel, where you have enough time to admire Michelangelo's famous frescoes and learn about the intense relationship between Pope Julius II and Michelangelo that drove the artist to create the greatest work of art the world has ever known.

Your tour continues in the vast open spaces of St. Peter’s Basilica where you see a stunning Pieta - a world-famous work of Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo, and Bernini's impressive Papal Canopy, a legacy left to the Basilica by the Barberini family.

The ending point of your tour is St. Peter’s Square, where you can admire Michelangelo's Dome and the gorgeous colonnades designed by Bernini.

After that you are transferred back to the hotel and have the evening free to enjoy the beauty of Rome on your own.

*Please note: the Vatican is a sacred religious site thus the dress code for visiting it is applied just as when you visit any church in Italy: no shorts – no uncovered knees and shoulders, no backpacks.

Day 8: Visiting Nuraghe of Barumini & transfer to Cagliari

Today you check-out from the hotel in Alghero. Your private driver takes you on a sightseeing tour with the stops in a couple must-visit places. 

Departure towards Bosa through the lovely panoramic coastal road. Bosa is a pretty and charming ancient town, famous for laces, tanneries and its lovely malvasia wine. The town has recently been nominated one of the prettiest in Italy.

Then you visit Nuraghe of Barumini. It is the most important and well preserved among about 7.000 nuraghe spread all over the island. Also called “Su Nuraxi”, The Nuraghe, in 1997 it was declared World Heritage by UNESCO and is absolutely a Sardinian place worth visiting.

In the afternoon you are transferred to the capital - Cagliari for an overnight.

Day 9: Cagliari Sightseeing & Ferry to Rome

Today you have half of the day to explore city of Cagliari with your private guide. 

Cagliari means sea, sun, monuments, wonderful vistas in a whole. Its profile is made of a most peculiar mix of architecture, customs and traditions influenced by different dominations. We'll walk through Porta Cristina and visit the Medieval quarter called “Castello” (Castle). We'll see the fourteenth-century Pisan towers, San Pancrazio and Elefante, visit the Governor's Palace and the Cathedral. We'll enjoy the most beautiful view of the town from the Bastion "Saint Remy".

In the afternoon you are transferred to the port to embark the overnight ferry which will take you to Rome. Night onboard.

Day 10: Arrival in Rome & Sightseeing

In the morning you arrive in Rome. Upon arrival your driver meets you at the port and takes you to the centrally-located hotel for the check-in. 

Then you meet your guide for a stroll through the very heart of Rome. Today in about 4 hours you see the most famous attractions and hidden treasures of the Eternal city. You explore the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers, as well as witness the masterpieces by Bernini, Borromini and many others. The highlight of your day is a tour of the most well-recognized sight of Rome - the Colosseum.

After the tour you return to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 12: Departure
This is the last day of your amazing tour to Italy! After breakfast your driver meets you at the hotel lobby and takes you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future vacations!
