Day-by-Day

Day 1

Arrival to Palermo

Welcome to Palermo - the stunning capital of Sicily. Upon arrival, you are met by your private driver at the airport, who transfers you to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip.

Day 2

Day Trip to Erice

After breakfast you meet with your private guide and driver and embark on a day trip to the unforgettable medieval hilltop town of Erice.

It is a wonderfully preserved town offering the most breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Together with a driver and guide discover the city's treasures. Erice boasts 60 churches, some dating back to the early 1300's, and two incredible castles, Pepoli Castle and Venus Castle (entrance tickets not included).

After the tour you return to your hotel in Palermo and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3

Palermo City Tour

After breakfast you meet with your private guide to enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Palermo.

The capital of Sicily - Palermo - has been a crossroads for cultures and civilizations for 8 millennia. Together with your private guide you start the tour at the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel.

Then you walk along Villa Bonanno to the Cathedral in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, just to admire the exterior; continue along Vittorio Emanuele to the imposing Four Corners. Then on to the Tuscan fountain in Piazza Pretoria and just behind it see two splendid Arabo-Norman churches, La Martorana and San Cataldo.

After the tour you return to the hotel. You have rest of the day free to enjoy Palermo on your own.

Day 4

Day Tour to Monreale, Cefalu and Transfer to Agrigento

Following breakfast you check out from the hotel and meet with your private guide and driver to embark on an exciting day tour to Monreale and Cefalu.

After a short drive you arrive in Monreale where we have planned a visit to the famous Cathedral, dating from the era of the Norman kingdom of Sicily, where the Arab-Norman art and architecture reached its apogee.

Then you proceed along the coast to the scenic town of Cefalu, the home of another astonishing example of religious Arab-Norman architecture. This colorful fishing village, complete with brightly-hued boats and twisting narrow streets gives you an opportunity to admire the iconic postcard views of Sicily.

After the tour you are transferred to Agrigento where you check-in at your charming hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Day 5

Valley of the Temples & Scala dei Turchi Cliffs

Today after a delicious breakfast at the hotel you spend the day with your private guide exploring famous Agrigento sights and its surroundings.

You tour begins with one of the two highlights of the city - the splendid Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You then continue to the near-intact Temple of Concord, the best-preserved temple in the world and one of the symbols of Sicily.

In the second part of the day enjoy a trip to the seaside to see the famous Scala dei Turchi Cliffs. The dazzling chalky white rocky cliff eroded conveniently into stairs rises 50 meters above sea level. This natural phenomenon so-called "Stairs of the Turks" allows for easy walking. Its gleaming color is eye-catching enough, but what makes it even more remarkable is that it looks like a staircase carved by man even though its shape is entirely natural.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Day 6

Villa Romana del Casale & Transfer to Taormina

In the morning after breakfast you check-out and your private driver meets you at the hotel lobby for the trip to Taormina.

Along the way, we have arranged a stop to see the hidden gems of Sicily. You first travel northwest to Piazza Armerina to view the famous Villa Romana del Casale.

Upon arrival you check-in at your hotel and have rest of the day free to enjoy Taormina on your own.

Day 7

Sightseeing of Taormina

In the morning after breakfast at the hotel meet your private local guide. Together you take off to see the highlights of Taormina.

During the tour you stroll along the main street, Corso Umberto I, and visit the Greco-Roman Theater that has Etna as its backdrop.

After the tour you return to the hotel. You have rest of the day free to enjoy Taormina on your own, spend time on the beach, dine in one of the local restaurants overlooking the bay.

Day 8

Day Trip to Mount Etna

In the morning after breakfast at the hotel meet your private local driver and set off on a day trip to one of the most famous Sicily attractions - Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe.

Your driver takes you to an access point - the Rifugio Sapienza on the southern slope located 2,000 meters (6562 feet) above sea level. Here you take a walk to visit the "Silvestri" craters and the latest new lava flows and craters from 2001-2003 and enjoy the desert moon atmosphere!

On the way down you also visit a local winery and taste local Etna wine.

Once your visit to Mount Etna is over you return to your Taormina hotel.

We had a top-notch tour to the UK. Even more than top-notch, "ace" as the locals say!

We had a top-notch tour to the UK in June 2016. Even more than top-notch, "ace" as the locals say! The Treasures of Britain tour my husband and I took was everything we wanted. We really liked the hotels we stayed in, each with its own charm and history. Particularly we would like to note breakfasts in the hotel in ...

Superb tour to Italy! You really deserve a round of applause

I wasn't sure what to expect from our trip to Italy but my mom and I were very surprised with how smoothly everything went. Only a few minor hiccups that were too minor to even mention. We enjoyed the guided tours because all the views were really great and the buildings so old. The sites were a bit crowded but still ...

London, Brussels, Amsterdam Tour (May 2017)

Overall, very good. The group did not like starting off on a crowded 20-stop subway journey instead of the Heathrow Express. Guides were great. Brussels was 50/50 with the group. If we had more interior visits, it would have been better. We will eliminate the Hague next time, and spend more time in Rotterdam. ...
