Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Barcelona

Welcome to the proud capital of Catalonia and one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Barcelona! Upon arrival your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your downtown hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent old town on your own, dine in one of the authentic local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Day 2: Visiting Barcelona Old Town & La Rambla

Following breakfast in your hotel you meet your guide and go on a wonderful panoramic half-day tour around the most outstanding attractions of Barcelona.

Barcelona obtains one of the biggest and architecturally diverse Medieval districts in Europe. During the tour you get to see Barcelona's Old Town called "Casc Antic" and its medieval landmarks.

Your tour begins with a walk through the maze of old narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter that was formed around the Roman forum. You get to see the Barcelona Cathedral both from the outside and the inside, pass the former Jewish District "Call", the Sant Jaume Square, see the Generalitat Palace and City Hall from the outside, pass the Square of the King and the former Royal Palace.

You then proceed to the Ribera shore district where you see the Santa Maria del Mar church - the former residence of sailors, traders and craftsmen who lived and worked there in the Middle Ages.

The tour finishes on the most vivid street in Barcelona La Rambla. Here you have a chance to rest at one of its open air terraces.

Day 3: Tour of Sagrada Familia

After breakfast you meet your guide and enjoy a fantastic half-day sightseeing tour dedicated to the world-renowned architectural masterpiece of Antonio Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia Basilica.

During the tour you get to see Gaudi's astonishing creation and find out some facts about his one-of-a-kind construction techniques and his life story.

After the tour you have free time to continue exploring Gaudi masterpieces or enjoy laidback ambiance of Barcelona's endless street cafes.

Day 4: Transfer to Pamplona

In the morning after breakfast you check out from the hotel and meet your driver who transfers you to the train station for your train to exhilarating Pamplona (economy class train tickets are included).

The city is worldwide-known for hosting the famous San Fermin Festival known for the "Running of the Bulls". The traditional Spanish event, held annually from July 6 to 14, involves running in front of a small group of 6 toro bravo breed bulls, that have been let loose in specially fenced narrow rows on the city's streets.

Upon arrival you are transferred to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 5: Sightseeing in Pamplona

Following breakfast in your hotel you go on a walking city tour of Pamplona, a city set on an elevated terrace that stands in the midst of the Arga valley crowned by mountains.

The city was named after the Roman general Pompey and has a rich history. Despite urban development in the 20th century the city preserved the medieval design of the streets of the Old Town and has incorporated the military citadel and most of its early fortifications into its city plan.

Your sightseeing tour includes the Plaza del Castillo, the Plaza de Toros (bullring), the oldest part of Pamplona to its Roman foundations that date back to 75 B.C., the Camino de Santiago, and the 1756 Town Hall. After the tour you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 6: Transfer to San Sebastian & Sightseeing Tour

In the morning after breakfast you check out from your hotel and meet your driver who takes you to San Sebastian - a Spanish coastal beauty. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city to leave your luggage. You then meet with your local guide to have a wonderful sightseeing tour around beautiful city.

During the tour you see the Kursaal Palace area, the historic Cathedral area and one of the most-visited tourist sites - Santa Maria del Coro's Basilica, an 18 century baroque church built on the site of an ancient Roman temple. You then proceed to the local market and shopping area, see the Old Town, the port and the bay of La Concha.

After the tour you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 7: Free Day in San Sebastian

This day is free so you can dedicate your time to exploring the city on your own, relaxing on the beach or having a walk down the breathtaking coastline and enjoying the surrounding beauty. We also recommend visiting a local restaurant or bar to try Basque cider and "pintxas" - tasty local snacks the city is famous for.

Day 8: Transfer to Bilbao & City Tour

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and meet your driver who takes you to the biggest city of the Basque region - Bilbao.

Upon arrival you are transferred to your downtown hotel to leave your luggage and then meet your experienced guide who takes you on a fantastic sightseeing tour around the city's most interesting landmarks.

During the tour you see the Guggenheim-Bilbao museum (from the outside), explore the Casco Viejo - Old Town made up by the city's 7 calles - streets that are the origins of Bilbao, pass the beautiful Cathedral of Santiago, and enjoy the views of the Yohn's Palace or the Arriaga theater - named in honor of the "Spanish Mozart".

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 9: Free Day in Bilbao & Transfer to Logrono

In the morning you check out from the hotel. You have some time free to continue exploring the most outstanding Bilbao highlights on your own, buy some souvenirs for your friends and family or join our carefully-planned optional tour.

Optional tour: Trip to the Urdaibai Coast
Today you meet your guide and driver and go to the Urdaibai region - a famous biosphere reserve renown for the breathtaking estuary of Oka River and the gorgeous peninsular surroundings of the Bay of Biscay. The first stop of your tour is Gernika-Lumo, where you go inside the Assembly House, then pass the Peace Museum. Proceed to the historic fishermen village Bermeo and arrive at the cliffs of the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Dating back to the 10 century, it was named after John the Baptist and stands atop a small island hill. Climbing the narrow path made up of 241 steps set in a zigzag is a thrilling experience. The legend says that once you've made it to the top you should ring the bell three times and make a wish. Lunch is included.

In the evening you meet your driver to continue your exciting trip to Logrono - a charming town voted the gastronomic capital of Spain. After a quick 1,5 hour drive you arrive to your downtown hotel in Logrono for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 10: Exploring Logrono Highlights & Wine Tasting Tour

After breakfast you meet your guide who takes on a wonderful walking tour around the city's most treasured attractions, including the Old Town, Plaza del Mercado and Logrono Cathedral.

You then proceed on the wine tour and visit a local winery to get an insight on famous Rioja wines. But first you will grab a bite in local tapas bar, so you don't have wine tasting on empty stomach.

Logrono is the center of the Rioja wine trade - the region that is renown for producing exceptional Spanish wines.

After the tour you return to your downtown hotel for overnight.

Day 11: Madrid Sightseeing Tour & Prado Museum

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver takes you to the train station for a 3,5-hour train ride to Madrid (train tickets are included).

Upon arrival to Madrid, your driver meets you at the train station and transfers you to your centrally located hotel to leave your luggage. After that you meet your guide and go on your first sightseeing tour of Madrid.

During the tour you pass the Parque del Retiro, Puerta de Alcala, Plaza Cibeles, and three monumental fountains: Cibeles, Apolo and Neptuno. Next you proceed to the Spanish Parliament building, see the Atocha train station and explore the area of the Golden Triangle of Art made up of three most important art museums of Madrid - the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemitza and the Reina Sofia.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to one of the world's greatest art galleries and Madrid's top cultural sight - the Prado Museum. This venue houses a unique collection of Spanish fine art displayed in the halls and rooms of this 18th-century Neo-Classical building. You see the most significant gems of the museum's collection, including the famous masterpieces of El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, Raphael and Rubens.

After the tour you are taken back to your hotel for an overnight.

Day 12: Madrid Old Town Tour

Following breakfast you meet your guide and enjoy a fascinating sightseeing tour around the most brilliant attractions of Madrid de los Austrias - the amazing old town of the Spanish capital that treasures historical monuments dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries when Spain was ruled by the House of the Hapsburgh.

During the tour you take a walk around Plaza de Oriente, enter the gorgeous Royal Palace called Palacio Real, see the beautiful exteriors of the Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Almudena and stroll through Major Street.

Next you proceed to Plaza de la Villa, stop by St. Michel's Market and walk down the picturesque Cava de San Miguel. Your tour finishes at iconic Plaza Mayor and breathtaking Puerta del Sol.

After the touring is over you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 13: FIREBIRD SPECIAL: Trip to Segovia & Avila

After breakfast you meet your professional guide and driver who take you on an amazing day trip to Segovia and Avila!

During the tour you visit the remains of the Roman Empire as seen at the Aqueduct of Segovia, one of the best preserved ancient monuments on the Iberian peninsula. Segovia used to be the residence to some of Castilian kings and today it boasts with some of the most important medieval groups of buildings in Spain.

Finally, admire the "Lady of the Cathedrals" and view the most spectacular castle in Spain, Alcazar, which was built as a fortress but has also been used as a royal palace, state prison, college, and military academy.

You then proceed to Avila a medieval city in the province of Castile-Leon in western Spain, about 70 miles northwest of Madrid. Founded in the 11th century to protect the Spanish territories from the Moors, Avila has a magnificently well-preserved city wall, a historic cathedral, a number of Romanesque churches, and an authentic medieval atmosphere.

For all these reasons, the entire Old Town of Avila has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. For pilgrims, the city of Avila is important because of its association with the great mystic and reformer St. Teresa de Jesus, better known as St. Teresa of Avila.

After the tour your driver takes you back to your hotel in Madrid. The rest of the evening is at your leisure.

Day 14: Exploring Treasures of Toledo

This day is devoted entirely to the exploration of Toledo - the former Spanish capital and one of the oldest towns in Europe. Following breakfast in your Madrid hotel you get to the train station and enjoy a 30-minute train ride to Toledo (regular class train tickets to and from Toledo are included). Transfer to the train station is not included, you will need to take a taxi or use public transport.

Upon arrival you meet your guide at the train station and have a fascinating city tour around the most interesting landmarks of Toledo.

During the tour you walk through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, explore the fortified city walls and see the famous UNESCO World Heritage-listed medieval architecture, including the 13th-century Cathedral of Toledo and Sinagogue (entrances included).

After the tour you return to Madrid by train. Transfer from the train station to the hotel is not included, you will need to take a taxi or use public transport. The rest of the evening is at your leisure.

Day 15: Free Morning & Train to Cordoba

Day 16: Cordoba Highlights & Drive to Granada

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel and enjoy a 3-hour guided tour around the most outstanding sights of Cordoba that used to be the largest city of Roman Spain.

While exploring the city with your guided tour you see the beautiful Roman Bridge, the famous 14th-century Royal Castle - Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, and the Great Mosque of Cordoba that is the oldest mosque in Europe.

After lunch in a local restaurant you take a 2-hour drive to Granada - a picturesque city located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Upon arrival you check in to your downtown hotel and have sometime at your leisure to prepare for one of the highlights of your trip - visit to Flamenco performance in caves.

Included evening activity:
Granada's famous variation of traditional Flamenco dance is called Zambra. Visit one of the famous Sacromonte caves to witness this passionate performance where the dancer is also singing!

Day 17: Exploring Alhambra of Granada

In the morning after breakfast your guide takes you on a wonderful sightseeing tour of Granada, known as the last stronghold of the Moors in Western Europe full of numerous historical sights and medieval architecture.

During the tour you see the main treasures of Granada including one of Spain's most visited attractions - the Alhambra Fortress that used to be the residence of the Muslim rulers and their court. Get awe-inspired by its numerous arabesques, porticos, pools and Islamic ornamental masterpieces of its hallways.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 18: Visit of the Seville Cathedral & Alcazar

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and catch a comfortable train to Seville. Upon arrival you are accompanied to your downtown hotel for check in.

After a short break, you meet with your guide in hotel lobby and have a panoramic city tour of Seville. Experience authentic Andalusian spirit in one of its most important cities. As a tour highlight, you have a guided visit to the Gonzalez Byass Winery, where you get to taste 2 wines and tapas and then go to the Tabanco El Pasaje restaurant for lunch and a flamenco show.
