Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania! Today you are landing in Kilimanjaro International Airport near the city Arusha. Your driver meets you at the airport and takes you to the lovely Moivaro Lodge located near a gorgeous mountain.

In the evening we invite you to a Welcome dinner where you get to meet your fellow travelers and guides.

Dinner is included.

Day 2: Safari ride to Serengeti National Park

Following breakfast you check out and go on an exciting safari to Serengeti. During your ride you pass a stunning savanna and see impressive granite boulders.

Upon arrival you check-in the Private Deluxe Camp surrounded by savanna woodlands. The Serengeti National Park area is renowned for the high concentration of wildlife. Thousands of wildebeest species can be seen during the annual migration period*. The rest of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the captivating scenery of Tanzania's gorgeous National Park.

*Note: The annual wildebeest migration coincides only with the January - March departures.

Note: Tanzania National Park fees are not included. The fee as of today is​ $1,350 but is subject to change.

Day 3: Exploring Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your private camp you have the unique chance to explore Serengeti National Park's exotic wonders. The park is home to an abundant variety of wildlife species such as leopards, vervet monkeys, giraffes, cheetahs and buffaloes. Today you can witness Tanzania's beautiful animal inhabitants during game drives.

Overnight in the Private Deluxe Camp.

Day 4: Hiking in the Serengeti Plain

After breakfast in your lodge you are transferred to Elwai. "Elwai" is translated as "whistling thorn" and is used by the local people to refer to the region. The territory is also known for the discoveries of early human origins, thus making Olduvai Gorge one of the leading paleoanthropological sites in the world.

Today you begin the first day of your hike route. The route is chosen by your guide according to the current activity of the wildlife. Overall you cover from 5 to 8 miles and your walking adventure takes 4-6 hours.

During your hike you pass the Serengeti Plain, Olduvai Gorge and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, see the wildlife that inhabits these territories and witness how the local Massai people heard their livestock.

You spend the night in a Private Mobile Tented Camp.

Day 5: Walking Safari Adventure

After breakfast in your Private Mobile Tented Camp you continue the second day of your hike route. You cover the remaining miles of your route, chosen by your guide according to the current activity of the wildlife.

During your hike you pass the Serengeti Plain, Olduvai Gorge and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, see the wildlife that inhabits these territories and witness how the local Massai people heard their livestock.

Overnight in the Private Mobile Tented Camp.

Day 6: Visiting the Massai Village

Today you arrive at the final destination of your long hike high up in the Ngorongoro highlands which open a magnificent view of the vast valleys located below.

The territory of the savanna highlands in Eastern Tanzania is home to the Massai people. You visit the Massai village called "manyatta" where you are greeted with the traditional loud and energetic welcoming dance with foot-stomping and many high jumps.

You get acquainted with the daily life of the locals, who are easily recognized by their bright red robes and unique ceremonies. Then you visit local homes, meet the village elders and participate in the cultural exchange procedure. Raising livestock and making things out of beads can be subsumed to the main activities of the Massai.

After that you proceed to the Private Deluxe Camp situated in the highlands where you spend the night. The duration of your 4-mile walk takes about 6 hours.

Day 7: Safari in the Ngorongoro Crater

Early in the morning after breakfast you are transferred on safari vehicles to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater - the main highlight of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority. Formed after a large volcano explosion and collapse approximately 3 million years ago, the Ngorongoro is the world's biggest inactive and unfilled volcanic caldera which is 610 meters (2,000 feet) deep, covering a total area of 260 square kilometers (100 square miles). The crater is considered one of the Seven Wonders of Africa and is home to about 30,000 species including lions, elephants, zebras and many birds.

Today you go on a safari where you get to see the beauty of the crater and its inhabitants with your own eyes. Later you join the local Massai people for a traditional meat-eating ritual.

Optional activity: At sunset you can go on a hike covering about 2-3 miles along an alluring ridge. The duration of the walk is about 1 hour.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Walking Safari

In the morning after breakfast at your camp you set off for a captivating hike with Massai guides. Today you cover 2-5 miles walking the gorgeous Ngorongoro Crater territory. You have the chance to witness lion prides, zebra herds and elephant calves. You also stop by the home of a Massai elder to find out more about the local culture. The duration of the walking safari is about 1-3 hours.

Optional activity: You can go on an hike and climb to the top of one of the highest mountains in the Ngorongoro region. The 12-mile route takes about 6 hours.

Day 9: Living Side by Side with the Hadza Bushmen

Following breakfast you are taken to Lake Eyasi. The Eyasi is a seasonal and shallow salt lake which attracts many seasonal birds such as flamingos and supports minor local fishing.

The territory is inhabited by the East African Hadza bushmen which are among the last existing true hunter-gatherer tribes on the planet. They have lived on the land near the Rift Valley in Tanzania for over 50,000 years and managed to preserve the unique centuries-old traditions of their every-day life. The bushmen population of around a 1,000 people depend much on their surroundings and use very few modern amenities.

After accommodating in the Private Mobile Camp you set off for an encampment of the Hadza bushmen. You get to see the daily life of the locals, familiarize with their traditions and spend the whole day living side by side with these people, participating in their every-day rituals. The duration of the 4-5 mile walk is about 2 or 3 hours.

Day 10: A Day in the Shoes of a Hadza Bushmen

Today you continue your Hazda bushmen daily life experience. You break into small groups and together with the Hazda tribe members search for the upcoming day's food.

You also have the unique opportunity to communicate with the locals through interpreter guides and find out how the bushmen get the better of their traditional lifestyle and do without modern amenities. Like many indigenous tribes the Hazda now face significant challenges to their way of life. 

Overall you spend about 5-6 hours walking today and cover approximately 10-12 miles. Overnight in the Private Mobile Camp.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

Day 11: Departure from Arusha

Today is the final day of your Tanzanian adventure. After breakfast you are transferred back to Arusha where you check-in the Moivaro Lodge dayrooms.

In the evening you are invited for a farewell dinner before you are taken to the airport for your evening flights back home.
