Day 2

Tbilisi City Tour & Folk Show

Following breakfast you meet with your guide and driver at the hotel and go on an unforgettable Tbilisi city tour. You start with a visit to the historical city district Metekhi, where you see the famous Metekhi Cathedral built in the 13th century and located on a picturesque cliff that offers magnificent panoramic views of Tbilisi over the river Mtkvari.

Then you ride a cable car to the ancient Tbilisi landmark that existed even before the city itself, the Narikala Fortress, also called the mother fortress of Tbilisi, and take a walk around its enormous walls feeling the history of this unique place.

Another highlight of the tour is a ride with a funicular up to the holy mountain Mtatsminda, with amazing views of Georgia's capital and nature.

You then continue to explore famous Tbilisi landmarks including Anchiskhati, Bridge of Peace, the district of sulfur baths as well as wander through the charming streets of Chardin and Leselidze.

In the evening you return to your hotel for a rest. Afterwards, you get ready for an exciting night with dinner and a Folk Show. Your private driver takes you to the venue, where you enjoy a delicious meal and opportunity to learn more about Georgia's traditions and customs.

Afterwards, your driver takes you back to the hotel for overnight.

Day 3

Tour to Kakheti Region & Wine Tastings

Following breakfast at the hotel you meet with your guide and driver and set out for another exciting day exploring Georgia.

The first stunning stop of the day is Signagi - one of the tiniest cities in Georgia. When it comes to tourist attractions, the "City of Love" (as Signagi is often called) can take your breath away with its picturesque landscapes, charming narrow cobbled streets and pastel houses located in the heart of wine-growing regions. During the Signagi tour you visit Bodbe Monastery, which was built in the 9th century and now functions as a nunnery. The refreshing gardens and fascinating basilica hint you the history behind the famous landmark as it was used as a coronation venue by the Kings of Kakheti.

Your second stop of the day is the wine house of Gurjanni, located in Kakheti region and famous for its winemaking traditions and warm hospitality. After the tour around the wine house you enjoy a delicious lunch accompanied by a perfectly paired glass of Georgia's finest wine, straight out of a barrel.

After lunch you make the last stop of the day - Tsinandali, a historic Georgian village which is a home to the first winery in the county. Here you discover more about the regional wine in the Shumi winery.

After the visit you are transferred back to your hotel in Tbilisi.

Day 4

Discovering the Beauty of Gudauri, Ananuri & Kazbegi

After breakfast you check out from the hotel and set off on an exciting excursion with your guide and driver following the Georgian Military Road - one of the most beautiful mountain roads in the world.

Your first stop is Ananuri, a castle complex on the Agragbi river. The fortress was built in the 17th century with an aim to control the road below, nowadays it astonishes tourists with its beautiful surroundings and the rich history visible in the architecture of the castle.

You also make a short stop at the highest village on the highway, Gudauri, which astounds you with the frosty scenery of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range.

You continue with discovering the beauty of Kazbegi and a nearby located Gergeti Church. The fascinating church is situated at an elevation of 2,170 m (7,119 ft) under Mount Kazbek, which is one of the major mountains of the Caucasus.

  • Note: you can trek up to the church or hire a 4x4 to take you up there for an additional cost, which should be paid on the spot.

After the tour you are transferred to a beautiful hotel at the base of Mount Kazbek for an overnight.

Day 5

Exploring Mtskheta, Chacha Tasting & Churchkhela Masterclass

Today after breakfast you check out from the hotel, meet with your guide and driver and set off to explore one of the oldest Georgian cities - Mtskheta. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has been the capital of the eastern Georgian kingdom of Iberia for many centuries until 5th century AD.

During the tour you walk through the old town and step into the beautifully decorated Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, built in the 11th century. After exploring this ancient town, you visit a traditional local restaurant for Georgian cuisine lunch.

Following lunch you have a one-of-a-kind chacha tasting experience. The signature brandy drink of Georgia is made from pomace, left from winemaking and is usually about 40%, but can reach up to 60% if it is homemade. The drink is believed to work as a medical remedy too, so cheers!

After learning how the national drink of Georgia tastes like you attend a churchkhela masterclass to discover the art behind making delicatessen that Georgians are so proud of! During the masterclass you get to make your own churckhela consisting of grape dust, flour and nuts.

After the tour you are transferred to Tbilisi hotel for check-in.

Tour to Uplistsikhe Caves & Gori

Following breakfast you meet your guide and driver at the hotel lobby and set out on a five-hour tour.

Af first you head for Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town. The town, which is one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia, played an important role in the history of the country. During Mongol invasions Uplistsikhe was damaged and virtually abandoned in the 13th century. Nowadays fascinating rocky caves complex of Uplistsikhe is a popular destination for tourists visiting Georgia.

The caucasus is the new travel jewel for the discriminating traveller and tourist.

The Caucasus was the forbidden fruit of the former USSR. I was astounded to see the Australian Government rated the region as very safe to travel in comparison to Turkey and neighbouring regions. The Caucasus offers exceptional value for the lowering Australian dollar. Everyday on our private tour we were taken to a ...
