Today take an inspiring trip to two famous towns of Tuscany: San Gimignano and Siena.

In the morning you are picked up from the hotel by your private driver and taken to the first destination - San Gimignano where you have some free time for independent sightseeing. Often called the town of towers as it is home to 14 well-preserved towers from the medieval times. These towers vary in height and form the international identity of the town. San Gimignano boasts many churches, such as the Collegiata and the Sant'Agostino. Moreover, the heart of the town contains 4 Piazzas - Cisterna, Duomo, Pecori, and Erbe.

Then you continue to Siena, Italy's loveliest medieval city. During the tour with a local guide, you visit all of the major sights including the Cathedral of the Duomo, which houses the works of artists like Nicola Pisano, Ghirlandaio, Ghiberti, Donatello and Jacopo della Quercia. You then see the Piazza del Campo - a shell-shaped structure, which is also a major attraction famous for hosting horse races.

After both tours, you are transferred to the hotel in Florence.

Day-trip to Cinque Terre Coast

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide takes you on a fascinating full day-trip along Cinque Terre to visit the most remarkable little towns.

You take the train from La Spezia to Monterosso, the biggest village of the 5 Terre and the only one with a nice sandy beach. The town is divided into two parts. In the medieval one you walk along its alleyways, called the carriage, see the “tower houses” and their colored facades, the parish church, many restaurants, and shops. The new part, called Fegina, is close to the train station and a sandy beach.

Continue with a short train ride to the village Vernazza, which has a natural pier with an amphitheater shape making it perhaps the most picturesque village of the Cinque Terre. Vernazza was a Roman installation and had big strategical importance during the age of the Maritime Republics of Genoa. It was also famous for its carpenters.
Here you have time for a light lunch before you head to the last village in your tour today by the boat.

Arrive in beautiful and the oldest village Manarola surrounded by wineries. During the tour, you explore local sights and of course, you see the Church of San Lorenzo dating back to 1338 and afterward, you travel back to La Spezia hotel by train.

Upon arrival in La Spezia, you have the rest of the evening at your leisure.

  • Note: The ferries between the villages are available From April 20th till November 1st. If the weather is not permitting tourists to have the whole trip with trains.
