Upon arrival to the train station meet your driver to have a transfer to the hotel.

You will meet your guide in the city center. Explore one of the few French towns that boast well-preserved 15th-century buildings. During a 2-hour walking tour, you will visit the main Cathedral, a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, beautifully preserved timber-framed houses, mansions flanked with towers, elegant private residences, and medieval streets full of a palpable sense of history. After the city tour, the guide will leave you at the Tapestry Museum, where you will have an audioguide to assist you. Here, you can admire this key work of the Middle Ages, listed as a “World Heritage” by UNESCO.

Another museum we recommend for a visit is the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy, with a vast exposition of military equipment and a display of the battle in chronological order.

Note: During ceremonies, an inside visit to the Cathedral is not available.

The Tapestry Museum will be closed starting September 1st, 2025, for at least two years. In its place, the tour will include visits to the Museum of Art and History and/or The Battle of Normandy Museum.

Day 5 Bayeux

Tour to Mont Saint-Michel
Meet your private guide-driver in the city center and go on a tour of the Mont Saint-Michel, a magical island topped by a gravity-defying medieval monastery in Normandy. Upon arrival at the parking lot together with your guide-driver, you take a shuttle to Mont Saint-Michel as cars are not allowed to go on further. Here, you'll behold the iconic Gothic-style Benedictine abbey, a stunning architectural masterpiece constructed between the 11th and 16th centuries. The village nestled beneath its towering walls completes this picturesque scene. Mont Saint-Michel, perched on a rocky islet amidst vast sandbanks, is renowned for experiencing some of Continental Europe's highest spring tides. These tides, which surge powerfully between Normandy and Brittany, transform the landscape, elevating the sea level by an astonishing 15 meters between low and high tide, effectively turning Mont Saint-Michel into an island—an enchanting and natural wonder of the world.

Throughout this journey, you will step onto the very ground where the D-Day landings, the Invasion, and the Battle of Normandy unfolded. Each of these locations bears witness to the bravery and sacrifice of those who embarked on this daring mission. The Colleville-sur-Mer US Cemetery, situated overlooking Omaha Beach, provides a poignant moment for reflection.
