Welcome to Reykjavik - the picturesque capital of Iceland! Your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to the famous Blue Lagoon, where you start your Iceland adventure with a relaxing visit to one of the most visited attractions in Iceland.
You have approximately 2 hours to soak up in the Northern sun while relaxing in warm geothermal seawater surrounded by a surreal lava field. After this relaxing experience your private driver transfers you to your hotel for check-in.
No meals included.
In the morning after breakfast you meet your private driver-guide at the hotel lobby and go on an amazing 3-hour city tour around the most significant places in Reykjavik and the nearby area.
During the tour, you stop by the official residence of the President of Iceland called Bessastadir. Your next stop is Hafnarfjörður - a port town and municipality located about 10 km from Reykjavik. This place is known as the home of the "Hidden people" Huldufolk from local folklore, meaning elves in Icelandic.
Then you proceed to the futuristic Perlan dome from which you see spectacular views over Reykjavik and its surroundings. You make a stop at Hofdi, the building where the all-important summit between the former U.S. President Ronald Reagan and the former U.S.S.R. Secretary General Mikhail Gorbachev took place in 1986.
Then on to the Hallgrimskirkja Church that is the tallest building in Iceland where you have a chance to walk up the stairs to see the view of the city center (entrance tickets are not included). Another place you see today is the Althing building - a classical 19th-century building which is home to the Icelandic parliament's main debating chamber.
After the tour, your return to your hotel and have a free evening.
Breakfast is included.
After breakfast together with your group you go on a fascinating day trip through entire Iceland. During the 8-hour adventure you have the unique chance to experience the best this outstanding country has to offer - the Golden Circle!
The first highlight of your day trip is visiting the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site - Thingvellir National Park. The national pride of the country, the Thingvellir National Park has a very important historical significance - it is the place where the oldest existing parliament in the world (first assembled in 930 AD) is set. The “Althing” was held here for almost 9 centuries, until 1800.
However, it is not only history that attracts thousands of visitors to this unique land. Being part of a fissure zone running through Iceland, the Thingvellir area is a great lava arena in a rift valley formed between the Eurasian and the North American tectonic plates and serves a visual representation of continental drift. The area also features the largest natural lake in Iceland - Thingvallavatn, surrounded by lava flows and lush vegetation.
You then discover the picturesque Gullfoss - one of the most beautiful and popular waterfalls in Iceland. Your next stop is the Geysir area scattered with hot springs, mud pools and geysers, including the famous geyser Strokkur - the world´s most active.
On our way back to Reykjavik you pass Hveragerdi - a small town known for its geothermally heated greenhouses. After the tour you return to your Reykjavik hotel for overnight.
Breakfast is included.
Following breakfast you and your tour group go on another breathtaking day trip. In the morning your driver picks you up from the hotel and your memorable 10-hour journey to the South Coast of Iceland begins.
The very impressive waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss are your first stop. Seljalandsfoss cascades down the mountainside of West Eyjafjöll and is narrow and very high. There is even a path at the bottom of the cliff providing a safe and easy opportunity to walk behind the waterfall. You then see Skógafoss - an impressive 60 m high waterfall located in Skógar, where you can visit the museum (entrance tickets are not included).
You then proceed to Vik the charming southernmost village in Iceland famous for breathtaking mountainous vistas, rich vegetation and bird life. Make sure to take a picture of the three rockstacks called Skessudrangar, Landdrangar and Langhamrar. Rising for up to 66 m from the sea, they are referred to in local folklore as trolls that turn to stone at sunrise.
After the tour you return to your Reykjavik hotel for overnight.
Breakfast is included.
Following a hearty breakfast at the hotel you and your tour group prepare for one more amazing day trip. Today you get to see the Snaefellsnes Peninsula - a very beautiful area on the west side of Iceland with plenty of recreational activities to choose from.
From glaciers to lava and rock formations to small fishing villages and great mountains - no wonder Snaefellsnes is often referred to as "Iceland in miniature". Nature lovers will particularly enjoy the spectacular landscapes and unusual surroundings. You can also explore the abundant birdlife and marine species that inhabit this area.
After the tour you return to your Reykjavik hotel.
