Why Visit Stevns Klint
Stevns Klint is a 40-meter high white chalk cliff located on the Danish island called Zealand.
This geological site comprises a 15 km-long fossil-rich coastal cliff offering exceptional evidence of the impact of the Chicxulub meteorite that crashed into the planet about 65 million years ago and is responsible for the disappearance of over 50 per cent of all life on Earth.
Interestingly, Stevns Klint is also one of the sites on the UNESCO World Heritage list and offers many experiences.
For centuries locals have extracted limestone, chalk, and flint from Stevns Klint so you can visit the abandoned limestone and chalk quarries, see where workers have cut out building stones from the cliff, and even find fossils of animals that lived in the sea that covered Stevns and most of Northern Europe more than 65 million years ago.
Come and enjoy the unique nature of the Limestone Landscape along Stevns Klint in Denmark which forms a breeding ground for rare and endangered species and is popular among birdwatchers and tourists.
