Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg

Welcome to Johannesburg - South Africa's bustling metropolis located in the very heart of the country! This is the first day of your exciting South Africa tour. Your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you to start exploring the surroundings on your own, dine in one of the local restaurants or take a good rest before the rich sightseeing program planned for the next day.

Day 2: Johannesburg City Tour

Following breakfast you meet your guide at the hotel lobby and go on a wonderful sightseeing tour around the most interesting attractions of Johannesburg.

You start with a tour of Soweto - a sprawling township located in the outskirts of Johannesburg. It was created in the 1930's to separate people with black-colored skin, who were not permitted to live in the inner town reserved for whites. The black neighborhoods were mostly populated by native African workers from the gold mining industry.

During the tour of Soweto you visit the world-renowned Apartheid Museum, drive past Mandela House Museum and explore the Hector Pieterson Museum commemorating the role of the country’s students in the struggle against apartheid.

Later you are transferred back to the center of Johannesburg to continue your sightseeing tour. You drive through the famous Banking District, see the Magistrate's Court and the Supreme Court, enjoy the best city views from the Top of Africa viewing platform located on the 50th floor of the Carlton Center and visit the Museum Africa to learn more about African culture and history.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 3 - 6: Kruger National Park Safari Experience

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to the airport for a flight to Mpumalanga. The duration of your flight is about 45 minutes (flight tickets are included). Upon arrival you are transferred to your safari lodge located in the Kruger National Park, where you spend the following 4 nights on a full board and game drive basis.

At nearly 2 million hectares, the Kruger National Park is the flagship of South African National Parks and is home to an impressive number of flora and fauna, including the famous African Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino. You spend 4 wonderful days in this scenic reserve to enjoy an authentic safari experience that ranks the best in Africa.

4 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 4 dinners are included.

Day 7: Flight to Durban

After you return from your morning game drive, you have time to enjoy breakfast and then meet your driver who transfers you to the Mpumalanga airport for your flight to Durban. The duration of your flight is approximately 2 hours 20 minutes (flight tickets are included).

Upon arrival you are transferred to your stylish Durban hotel boasting uninterrupted views of the ocean. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8: Trip to Shakaland

Following breakfast your guide and driver take you on an exciting trip along the Dolphin Coast to Shakaland Zulu cultural village to enjoy the greatest Zulu experience in Africa and re-live the excitement and romance of the days of the King of the Zulus - Shaka.

During the tour you participate in a cultural program of Zulu traditions that includes spear making, hut building, pottery and weaving. You are then treated to a spectacular Zulu singing and dancing show, a Zulu beer-tasting and a traditional buffet style Zulu Meal.

After the tour you are transferred back to your hotel in Durban and have the rest of the day free.

Day 9 - 11: iSimangaliso Wetland Park Safari Experience

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to your beautiful lodge located in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, where you spend the following 3 nights on a full board and game drive basis.

iSimangaliso Wetland Park is one of the few places in Africa where excellent game viewing can be enjoyed in close proximity to the pleasures of scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. During the following 3 days you have the unique chance to see the main treasures of this outstanding reserve and experience its diverse wildlife and mind-boggling nature.

Day 12: Flight to Cape Town

Following breakfast you check out from your lodge and your driver transfers you to the Durban airport for your flight to Cape Town. The duration of your flight is about 2 hours and 15 minutes (flight tickets are included).

Upon arrival you are transferred to your stylish hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 13: Cape Town Sightseeing Tour

In the morning you meet with your private guide at the hotel lobby and enjoy an exciting tour around all the must-sees of this wonderful coastal city.

Weather permitting your tour starts with a breathtaking raise to Table Mountain, opening incredible views of the city (cable car fee not included). Then you proceed to the Company's Garden - a beautiful green park described as "an oasis of calm in the city rush", visit the S. A. Museum that houses more than one and a half million specimens of scientific importance and explore the Castle of Good Hope - a 17th century fort and South Africa's oldest building.

You continue your tour with a visit to the vibrant flea market and a historical Greenmarket Square and enjoy an exciting trip through the picturesque Bo-Kaap area well-recognized for its brightly colored buildings and cobble-stoned streets.

Your driver then transfers you to the V&A Waterfront where you embark a ferry that takes you to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela served 18 long years behind the bars of its notoriously famous political prison.

During your bus tour of the island you explore Nelson Mandela's maximum-security prison cell (Cell 5), see the lime quarries and learn more about South Africa’s history and struggle for freedom.

After the tour you return to your hotel in Cape Town and have the rest of the day free.

Day 14: Cape Point & Peninsula Tour

This day is dedicated to an awe-inspiring tour to one of Africa’s most scenic areas - Cape Point and Cape Peninsula. During the tour you travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stop at a Llandudno look-out point and continue on to Hout Bay - a quaint village and fishing harbor with magnificent mountain views and an idyllic beach.

Optional tour: Boat trip to Seal Island.

Then you proceed down Chapman's Peak that is one of the world's most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve boasting magnificent fynbos vegetation and endemic antelope species.

You continue your tour with a visit to a historic Simon's Town where you see a Naval Base and visit the beautiful Boulders Beach to view a large colony of the African Penguin in their natural habitat.

Your tour finishes with a visit to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens founded in 1913 to preserve the country's unique flora. This garden is famous for being one of the eight National Botanical Gardens encompassing five of South Africa's six different biomes.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.
