I want to thank your team for the time and effort you put into organizing a wonderful and memorable trip for us. I think the timings you set up were just perfect. With all the traveling it was very effective to arrive in a new place not too early or too late. The locations of the hotels were perfect which also made a big difference. I also thought you chose lovely hotels. Thank you.
The outstanding parts of the trip that I would highly recommend are: train ride to Flam, the day trip with a driver in which we experienced the glacier, Alesund and Bergen, of course all of the fjords! I know that's a lot. Oslo was not impressive to me.
The Hurtengruten overnight was a little torturous though I did love the sights as we came closer to Bergen. The biggest issue I had with the voyage was that we boarded at midnight, which was fun; however, by 10AM we had to leave the room. Perhaps there is a better way to go from Alesund to Bergen. Now for the call outs. As you might remember I requested upgraded rooms throughout the trip. What I think you should have mentioned to me is that upgraded rooms did not mean rooms with views. I had a big dispute with the manager at the Union Hotel telling her that we had an upgraded room. She said the reservation did not request a room with a view of the fjord. After a lot of complaining and upset, she did find us a pleasant room with a lovely view of the fjord. The same situation occurred at the Admiral Hotel. However, they were not a cooperative and did not find us a room facing the water. The was a disappointment to me. I think that you should consider this information for your future clients. The other call out is the pick-up and delivery staff that you are employing. This is not a professional operation. Most times no one was waiting for us at the appointed time. In my opinion, if the pick up time is 7:30, the driver should arrive at least 10 minutes early. The drivers did not always use the Firebird sign, and if they did, my name was not written on it. In Oslo, we waited 10 minutes and then left. After we arrived at the train station, I received a text saying the driver was there. When leaving Copenhagen, we waited for ten minutes, no driver. I called the contact number you had given me. She was informative and polite, telling us to take a taxi and Firebird would reimburse me.
All in all it was a well planned and special trip. Thank you. I will definitely call you again when we are planning a trip in the future.
