Firebird's attention to detail made our trip a “no-hassle” trip

First of all, the guides were all terrific young local people whose families have been in the area for generations. They were passionate about their subject matter. It gave us a chance to ask questions about life in Italy today in addition to the vast historical knowledge they possessed. Our Rome guide, Mauro, had written 3 books about Ancient Rome and was particularly good. If you don’t use professional guides, you will miss most of the finer details and stories behind the area or work of art.
The side trip to Cinque Terre was near the top of our highlights. And Amalfi, well our pictures of the coast are spectacular. And we will never forget the wine tasting and cooking class we attended.
Logistics were 100% on time. Each guide and driver was there to greet us on time and with first-class cars/vans and trains. This is a big deal when you don’t speak the language or read signs or use trains. We NEVER waited in long lines.
